driffter33's Build Thread

looks good man. hope that spring doesnt pop out.

Ya I am happy with it. The setup is stiff like an old 3/4 ton truvk but that will get better ass I add armour. The springs aren't going any where, they are a tight fit with the shocks disconected. With them conected the springs are in there good.

Here is a pic of Spectre filter, air raid smooth bore intake, and Poweraid cyclone spacer that has been bored out so is now just a spacer.

How did you get the MAF tube out of the airbox? Cut it?

Sorry haven't been on this thread for months been too into my mnt biking! Recently placed 3rd overall in the socall Triple Crown Mnt Bike series!!!

Some where in my thread I think there is a pick that shows how my MAF tube broke over haf way around so I really had no choice but to cut the rest of the way and ditch the filter box! Makes a big differance on under hood noise! I liked the change!

Well again I wanted to do things a touch different and recently started on a set of one off custom skid plates! Here are a few pics there wil be more when I find time to build the center section tha will connect to the front section go allthe way back to the gas tank skid.

Sweet! Looking good Jay! It's been a while, how ya been man?

By any chance, would you like this thread moved to the 3rd gen T4R's section? I think you'll get a lot more appreciation over there.

Yup been awhile! I need to get the runner ready for KOH!
Yes it would be sweet to have this moved over to the 3rd Gen section and delete the (out of order) from the title!

Glad to see you're back! All of you SoCal guys just fell off the forums, but are slowly coming back. Nice work on the skids. How are you bolting the belly skid on?

Good work Jay! Just a thought.. Even with my external cooler, I noticed my tranny gets a little hotter with my skids on. You may want to drill some holes on the sides to improve airflow if needed.

Tis the season of the 4runner!;-) Right now the belly skid is only bolted to the front skid and to the rear cross member. I will be adding bolts through the tranny mount cross member aswell.

Brian, I agree! I'm hoping that my 2" body lift helps also. The nice thing about doing things custom is that you can change any time you want and I am less than $200 into my skids.

Those are cool! Love how they extend all the way side to side to each frame rail.

BTW, I'm in for KOH this year. Last year was a blast, no way I'm skipping this year. I'll come a lot more prepared this time around.

It would be sweet to tow out a trailer to keep the truck lighter in the desert. We all meeting up together like last year? Same spot, right?

I'm not sure how KOH meet up is going down this year yet! A trailer would be sooo sweet!
