Driver Side Lean

I'm getting ready to install an Eibach lift. I measured today and on stock suspension don't have a driver side lean. I had bought a ToyTec 1/4" spacer in anticipation of having driver side lean. So the question is, should I install the spacer in anticipation of ending up with driver side lean? Or since I'm good pre-lift should I be good post-lift?

I’d install it. I had my lift installed (Dobinsons) and afternoon it settled I had the lean so put the spacer on driver rear. Still need to measure again to see how much it helped.

I ended up with lean after the Eibach install, but can't say if it was there prior. If your installing the lift yourself, its like a 10 min job to place the spacer in the rear and i would wait to see if its required. You will also be able to measure for the correct size... Unless you get the adjustable spring perches. The information can also help future members.

I agree with waiting! Not every lifted 4Runner has issues with lean once the lift is installed. As mentioned before, it wont take long to throw that spacer in after the fact, so I would leave it out and see what measurements you end up with first.

What brand & height of spacer did you end up using for the rear? I installed the Eibach kit a little over a year ago and it has a little driver side lean that I would like to correct.
 
OME makes a 10mm trim packer. That’s what I’ve used in every one I’ve had. Always did the job.

Are you using the OME 10mm that goes on top of the bump stop #150PR10 or it seems there is a older version that goes between the OE bump stop and the spring (yellow ring)?

I’m using the yellow ring. I actually use two to get the lean to be correct. Had zero issues on any rig with probably 50k miles like that

I opted to forego adding the spacer while installing the Eibach Pro-Truck Lift System (Stage 1) for 2010+ 4Runner (E80-82-071-01-22) lift. Below are my measurements before and after the lift.

Before:
Front passenger 34.25"
Front driver 34 3/16"
Rear passenger 36.5"
Rear driver 36.5"

After:
Front passenger 36.5"
Front driver 36.5"
Rear passenger 38.25"
Rear driver 38.5"

I'm surprised that I maintained the factory rake. Has anyone else had this experience?

Wow. Sorry for late reply. I don’t like the Tapatalk App. I just ordered the spacer from Exit Offroad. It’s a Dobinsons spacer. PS59-4025

I have a 4th gen, and my factory rake is back. I used to have front and rear Daystar spacers on my 4R, and they eliminated the rake.

After I installed Toytec/Bilstein shocks and springs recently, the rear is higher again, even with 1/4” spacers on top of both front struts. I think the new rear springs raised the rear 3” instead of the 2” advertised. That could also be because my factory springs were old and tired.

Yeah, if the lift height front and rear was the same, it would keep the rake. Aka 2" lift front and rear won't reduce the rake. Most people would use a shorter height rear coil if they want to reduce the rake.

Oh, and KDSS vehicles don't lean to the driver's side hardly ever, they lean to the passenger side with the fixed sway bar mounts, so a lot that were chiming in probably don't have KDSS. A lot of people create a lean when putting a spacer on the driver's side with KDSS, making the passenger side really low.

That's why I usually recommend people wait and add a spacer after a lift is installed and settled and if they have a lean of 1/2" or more, then they can correct if it they feel they should.

I don’t think a front spacer will introduce any preload. It will just add more lift, i.e., it won’t compress the spring(s).

It’s strange. I just installed my Dobinsons springs on my KDSS 2018 4runner and the left side sits 1.5” lower than the right. Is this normal and any idea how to best rectify it?
