Driver side power window problem

My driver window has given me problems ever since I got the truck. It would sometimes stay up and not come down. I learned to fix this by operating the switch whiles hittin a pothole or two.
Well it looks like it finally took a dump on me. I removed the door skin and the mechanism was uder great pressure/stress being held up. I finally relieved the stress and got the whole deal outta the door.
Has anyone had any similar issues? The window motor won't stop trying to go up. Maybe there's a limit switch in the small motor somewhere that's gone bad or maybe the switch is a goner.

I am having a similar issue. It usually goes down fine but then will have to play with the switch to get it to go back up. I would say it is the more likely your switch. Although I would think that there should be some kind of limit switch. I havnt had mine apart yet so could not tell you for sure. I know my problem is the switch itself since it is intermittent and it feels loose compared to the others.

Mine does something different still. Luckily it only happens ~1% of the time.
When doing an auto up, it hits the top and then goes back down automatically.

My Volkswagen does that when I hit bumps with auto up, it's a safety thing. If I were to put my hand in the window while going up it will stop and the window will go down.

My auto down never has worked since I've had the truck. You just made me remember it was sposed to.

I'm gonna test my switch today hopefully.

Let me know if your switch isn't any good, I have still have the driver side switches in my truck.
