Drivers side lean

So I recently "upgraded" the lift in the front and rear and now I am seeing more drivers side lean than before. Before it was maybe 1/2 at most lean. Now with 5100's and OME 885s in the front and FJ coils with 1.5 spacers on top the drivers side lean is way worse. About 1 1/4 inch in the front and a solid inch in the rear. I know it is mainly to do with the gas tank but has anyone found anything that helped?

I've read many putting a trim spacer in the F, the R or both. I have a 1/8" trim spacer in the F on mine and it's pretty damn close.

Original front springs are different left and right, most likely to compensate for weight difference and to eliminate drivers lean. Mine was like yours before I did the lift. Little or no lean, so I opted to do without the spacer. Result was again very similar to yours so I had to put in the spacer to get rid of the lean.

I have the same front setup as you and didn't want to run a 1.5" spacer on one rear spring like some people do, that just seemed silly to me. My solution was a 1/4" toytec spacer on the drivers side and it gets it pretty close to level left to right.

Like stated previously, OEM Toyota coils are side specific to help eliminate the lean and for the most part they do a pretty good job. Add a bigger, heavier battery a the lean starts to creep back. Aftermarket coils are different because the coils are the same side to side. There are a couple different ways to combat this though. You can run a spacer on top of the driver side strut or adjust either strut/coilover.

I just installed some Bilstein 6112's and chose to run a 1/4" spacer on the driver side front strut. So far, it ended up with the passenger side 1/4" higher. I think a 3/8" spacer would have it pretty even.

It goes on top of the front drivers side coilover (on top of the top mount plate), between the shock and the upper bucket on the frame.

You do either front or rear not both. It lifts that corner which in turn will affect adjacent corners (usually in a positive lift sense) and probably sag the opposite corner a bit.

I chose to do the front because the stock coils were different, clearly showing that Toyota took care of the lean in the front as well. It's not perfect but it's pretty close.

OK thanks for the tip. I think I may just throw in a 1.5" Daystar spacer in the rear since I notice a lot more lean back there. I'm adjusting the 5100s to 1.75 from 0 next week since I have rake issue. Hoping this gives me a nice level stance.

mine lean on the pass. side, I found that the cheap shocks that the previous owner installed as different bottom coil mount from left to right. I've order bilstein ... hope it will solve the problem !

I just finished my lift, 2" icon rears and the 1.68" toytec coil-Os with 5100 on the third ring, with the billy 1/4" front spacer on drivers side(only 5 days of momma driving, but it's pretty close(I have air lift bags in the rear if I want to get critical)

Resurrecting an old thread. I am currently attempting to correct this lean and am half way complete. I added a Daystar rear 1.5 to the driver's rear and the back is sitting even now. But this did not have any affect on the front. The front is still sagging a little over 1/4 inch on the driver's side which was unchanged prior to the Daystar.

Is it advised to only add spacer to either front or rear? Or would it be ok for me to go ahead and add the 1/4 inch spacer to the driver's front?

Did you still have the stock endlinks for the rear when you were trying to dial out the driverside lean?

My lift consists of Bilstein 5100's with OME "medium" springs (885/895)

I have the OME trim packer in the right rear, and a 1/4 in. spacer from Wheelers Offroad up front, and the driver's lean is completely gone in my opinion.

This is on a 06 Sport 4x4 V8 btw.
