Driver's window is making a grinding noise after speaker / sound deadening install.

I searched, but couldn't find anything besides power window failure, which I don't think this is. The window still goes up and down all the way, but makes a grinding noise and just appears to struggle a bit. I installed new speakers and sound deadening, but neither of those appear to be causing it. Maybe I knocked something out of alignment during the install or need to grease something?

Does your window now have a scratch? Could be too long of screws. It happened to me when the shop put in a new license plate screw in the back. The rear window grinded and a scratch formed. If so, line up the scratch with a screw and find a shorter one.

pull the arm rest pad off on the door panel. the bolt that you used to scre in the door panel thats in the center of the door panel.it bolted too far in.

back that screw out a little.

good idea. I will check. thank you for the suggestion. it makes the grinding noise only in the first 3-6 inches of roll-down.

the door panel isn't even on yet, so there isn't a screw there. all the other windows work fine--it's only the driver's door, and it's only for the first 6 inches or so of roll-down.

was the aftermarket speaker depth greater than the stock, speaker may be touching the window
