As for the XREAS, it may go out around 125,000...maybe not, perhaps you will be lucky! I loved it, but certainly wasn't going to replace it when it went out...but that is FAR off in you future.

I envy that you have been able to purchase youth so reasonably!

Don't you still have a power train warranty from Toyota?

Yes, I do still have some powertrain left but it is only for another 6 months. I am finding that the prior owner had a remote starter, alarms, HID headlights, and probably some other "lighting" or other stuff around. I am now finding some of the interior plastic trim and carpeting not fitting exactlly right since he probably removed all the aftermarket stuff (except the HID headlights, which are still on the car) and didn't put it back 100% correctly. Nothing major and doesn't seem like anything I can't correct though. I just changed the cabin air filter this morning - it was ridiculously filthy.

I think the prior owner was more into aftermarket crap you can add to a car (to pimp it up) rather than maintaining it properly.

Small price to pay for the v8 performance. These other very minor items can be fixed.

....Don't drive the v8 unless you want to start an intensive and obsessive search and spend money. I drove one, fell in love with it, and became hell bent on getting one. You will too. It's powerful, quiet, smooth, and I no longer have the 4th to 5th gear "drone" that my v6 had. Drive one, then immediately drive the other. The difference is striking.

I was driving everyone around me crazy.

That is exactly how I felt during my test drives of 4gen 4Runners back in 2008. I did test drove a good number of V6 models before coming across one with V8… and it was it… I knew I will have to have one with V8… so I am 100% agree with you: do not drive V8 4Runner unless you are ready to start looking for one LOL…

I've always said the V8 is a way better power plant from being mechanically superior in every single way to offering a far more refined driving experience.
