Drop pan or drain and fill transmission

I'm getting ready for a big tow from WA to AZ in November. I've already made this tow going from AZ to WA last Jan. I'm basically taking my old job and slower pace of life back in Sedona.

Anyway. I am going to change the diff fluids tomorrow morning and was going to do a tranny pan drop but I am having second thoughts. Should I just do a drain and fill? The experts I have talked to say drain/fill would be the recommended choice. I was curious to see the magnets but now I'm thinking drain and fills the next few months.

I like to do my own maintenance but for some reason I feel uncomfortable dropping the tranny pan. Your thoughts

I've never changed diff or tranny fluids
Has tranny cooler and all other maintenance is up to date and ready

It wouldn't hurt to get in there are change the screen and clean the magnets, at least once...thing is you have never done it and as far as Im concerned, Im too anal to not do one good cleaning and inspection.

Call it nesting if you will, but once it is drained it is a cake to pull the pan. Good luck

Nothing wrong with drain and re fill. There's a drain bolt for a reason, so you wouldn't need to drop pan. But if you comfortable then drop the pan
