Ouch
I was driving today in Issaquah (about 20 minutes from home). As I was changing lanes to pass another vehicle, I drove over a paint can that was on the road. It had already been smashed, as the entire lane was yellow. I would have seen it if I were not changing lanes at the time.
I was hoping that the paint had already dried, but when I pulled over and checked, there was bright yellow paint ALL OVER the front end and bottom of my car. It was also all over 2 of the wheels/tires and the exhaust and spare. I drove until I found the nearest car wash. It was the automated kind and was not manned (I figured one with attendants would stop me otherwise). I ran through it twice, but It didn't really do much (except probably scratch the hell out of my paint).
By this point I was really pissed and worried that the paint would dry. I hauled some serious ass back to my neighborhood, where I knew there was a place where you wash your own car with a wand. It actually took me over an hour (and $25) of "High Pressure Soap" to get it all off. Every time you spray one area it gets onto another.
I think I pretty much got it all, but while I was cleaning up I found a screw in one of my tires and I ruined an $80 pair of pants (I was wearing a suit and tie and was in a hurry so I did not stop by home first).
Moral of the story: Watch the Road.
