Duratracs, BFG All Terrains, or your input

I just purchased the BFGs. I plan to do a little off road driving. Having wheeled a heavily modified Taco in the past, the sidewall of a tire can be a weakness. That's were you'll get a failure more often - at least in the woods of the Eastcoast (PA/VA)
Go and look at each tire in person. I looked at each in C Load. The BFG are stiff and advertised as such. You can bend the side of a Duratrac with one hand - kinda like a bike tire. I do think both are good tires, I just couldn't get past the feel test. For what I wanted specifically - the BFG was the choice.

i don't see a 275 duratrac.?..
i have the BFG AT's on my 2010 Trail. I'm not really that impressed. May try the Duratrac's next. have Firestone Dest. AT's on wife's 2003 Sport and those are pretty nice, just not as aggresive as the BFG AT or Duratrac.
Toyo MT's are a nice tire if you are looking for a true off-road tire.

TBH i havent reallyl looked to see if they made a 275. But i have mud tires right now and im trying to dial it down a little bit and the Duractracs to me are basically a cross between a all terrain and a mud tire. I want a good looking aggressive all terrain and it looks like BFG is the beefest one out so far.

yeah with 17's its hard to find im not sure about 18s

whichever one you can get cheaper, the BFG T/A KO is the best selling and argueably the best performing all terrain on the market. the Duratracs are the most talked about all terrain and will probably become the new standard for all terrains.

Do a search. BFG vs. Duratrac has been dicussed to many times already.
I'm running Duratracs. I think they look 100% better than the BFG. The tread looks better in person than in pictures. I don't rock crawl so a 3 ply sidewall isn't necessary, and they ride better on the road than an E rated BFG will. Compare the tire weights to each other- that will tell you a lot about how sluggish your truck will get when you put much heavier tires on (rotating mass).
Duratracs are also great on the road, quiet for how aggressive they are, and for me were cheaper than the BFG's at the time of purchase.

Great looking truck! I love the Shrockworks bumper. I am thinking of going with the same brand. Are you happy with it, fit and finish, ease of install?

I just installed 275x65x18 duratracs. My coe worker has 270x70x17 BFG's.
Looks wise the Duratracs are more aggressive.
Ride wise I would say the BFG are a little quieter but not by much. The duratracs have a hum but not bat at all. I think they are a close comparison and honestly for me it was the aggressive look that sold me over the BFG.
In person the duratracs look very agressive / bad***. The BFG looks good but doent stand out to me. just my.02

I don't think you can go wrong with either tire really. It comes down to your personal preference. I love the look of the Duratrac's and I also wanted an aggressive looking A/T tire so I went with them in 285's. Just bite the bullet and get 285's! Why are you wasting your time with special ordering 275's?

Depends on what you want them for.
If you're going to use them hard then, as mentioned, BFG is the beefier tire.
