How are they on ice?

They are severe winter rated, so much better than most. The only time I had any traction issues was during spring melt when things would freeze up again over night, leaving perfectly smooth fresh ice to drive on in the morning, and I was still happy with their performance on that surface. Other drivers around me were having far more issues than I was.

I took the plunge and like them so far. one road trip and little snow to play in.
we just happen to get 6 in of fresh heavy snow. so I got to go play a little. turned around in the ditch just to see how they would do. soft dirt/mud and lots of snow. well

they did awesome so there.
$ well spend. now I have to go check them out on the off road field of playing on the loggin roads and trails. :frog: dam I just hate having to go play in teh woods cause I claim I am testing out my new toys. hahahahahha

Tire pressure

what tires PSI are you guys running?
I left them at the PSI from when got them and took a trip. and that was to much.
so I lowered the back to 32 and the front is 34. will see if that is better cause now I have worn the centers down more than the sides.

this is just for everyday driving around town. not off roading by the way

What were they at when you go them, and what sidewall did you get (makes a difference)?

Mine were at 41 when I got them, rode rough. Dropped them to about 38 cold, and it rides much better now, that's where I've left them so far. C-sidewalls over here.

they were at 40 when I got them.
and after driving in the dirt to see the contact part. i lowered to 37-38 and after my trip (road) they were warn more in the center.
so I now have them at 34 fr and 32 rear since I dont have any weight there.
and that seems to let the outsides of the tread touch better.
dont want to have to wear down the inside to match the outside. lol

and I also got C rated

Only reason I took them off was because I will be doing 99% city/highway driving for the rest of the year and don't want to waste their abilities. I have, sadly, dumbed down to a set of Hankook Dynapros.
But if anyone is interested in mine right now, they are 265/75-16, E load range,70% tread remaining, done approx 15k miles. $100 each.

I've only had my durtrac's for about 600 miles. So far I really like them. Haven't had a chance to take them offroad yet, but as a daily driver it's doing well so far. The hum is barely noticable on the freeway, especially with the radio on, and when I do hear it, it doesn't bother me. It's kind of like white noise for men.

The one area I'm not quite sure about is the affect on my MPG. I'm not suggested that the duratrac's lowered my MPG because there are too many factors to consider (I'm due for new spark plugs, I only started to pay attention to my MPG after my lift and new tires so I don't have a solid point of reference, etc.). I'm sure the 265/75 didn't help my fuel economy, but by how much, I don't know.

I've noticed a couple of MPG difference since moving to 265/75 Duratracs from various 265/70 AT's.

I used to average around 18 MPG, now I'm around 16. (Not including any adjustment for tire size / speedo difference)

The tire shop inflated all four of mine to 45 psi (265/75/16 C load range). I have left them at that and it seems ok so far regarding the amount of tread in contact with the road. I may lower them down to 38 psi though if I begin noticing more wear in the center. The ride at 45 psi is pretty much the same as with my old P rated 265/70/16 all season tires. The hard part is finding a happy medium to maximize the life of the tires, while also keeping your MPG's from suffering too much.

I have since aired my set down to 32 psi for best handling, mpg, and tire wear. Love these tires!!!

Mine are at 36psi cold. When I run 40 you can see the shoulders aren't contacting the pavement. You can use sidewalk chalk to see what pressure gives you full contact with the road.
