DVD Receiver JVC or Pioneer?

Have you asked the Crutchfield staff? Seriously, just email them or call them and ask, I bet one of them have tested or compared them before. I asked them about my amp before buying and they were very helpful.

If you are not running an external amp, the JVC has an amp that's more that 50% more powerful than the Pioneer. Which means you'll get better, cleaner sound to your speakers.

That one is just a little over my budget I've set for one. Really don't need the nav, it would be nice but I don't want to spend what they cost to get it.
 
Whichever you choose, try to get one that can tilt. The stereo is pretty low in the 99, angling it up makes it much more visible and less distorted.
 
I like Pioneer, ive owned a stuff from that company since before they changed their logo... and I still dont like the new one.

I didn't feel the screen provided that much utility for me... so didn't go so fancy on my receiver... I decided on their media headunit without CD... All I needed was bluetooth for audio streaming, usb, and heandsfree phone and that gave me some extra space for some communications equipment.
 
If you haven't purchased your HU yet, try Sonic Electronix. I've found that their prices are cheaper than Crutchfield's. I would also choose the Pioneer AVH-X4800BS.

I'm also getting the Pioneer AVH-X2800BS installed on my wife's Sequoia this Friday. I think the only difference between mine and yours will be screen size where yours is I think 7" compared to 6.2" on the AVH-X2800BS

should of got the 3800 model, hd radio makes a difference if you listen to radio alot. plus you can get that model for 230 or so. if you want the tilt function, the 5800 is a better model, again it has hd radio.

Yeah, my wife does use the radio a lot and I was actually looking at the 3800 but it's a little bit out of my price range since I'm actually buying it from a car audio installation shop. I decided to gut her Sequoia's JBL system and installing all new audio equipment and it's out of my league to do the install, so I decided to go to professionals to do it. Plus my wife doesn't even know I'm doing this so I have to at least be a bit frugal on my purchases lol. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, because trust me, I've asked lol. On a side note, I was looking at the 5800 and that 7" screen does look nice but again, I'm afraid that she might go Lorena Bobbitt on my ass when she sees how much I spent on a radio lol
 
naw, shell love the 3800, right now im surprising my lady with that, a upgrade from the fh-x820bs. also i just bought 2 10 jl to replace the rockford 15 in the camry, many i tell you i got more trunk space back and a little louder bass now.

I'll ask the guy tomorrow how much extra it'll be. Right now, I'm looking at about a little less than $1100 for the 2800, a 400 w 4 channel amp, 4 sets of Pioneer component speakers, backup camera and installation.. Up from my original cost of less than $900. I also want to install a sub and amp later on in the future.

I think the 3800 can accommodate two cameras also. One for the rear and one for the front.

Well the 2800 is the last year model. I would still ask for the 3800. I'm thinking a 30 dollar difference should be it.

So I finally installed it yesterday and they finished installing everything late last night. Gotta tell you, loving the Pioneer double DIN. Oh btw, I did decide to go w/ the 3800 instead. Haven't had the chance to test everything out yet though.
 
I bought a Pioneer AVH-X2800BT on Amazon that arrived today. The wire harness adapter that I bought that said it would work with my truck actually wont work with my truck, so I'm at a standstill with it until tomorrow, but as soon as I get it going, I'll let you know how it works.
