Dyna Beads in Tires?

No I guess I should have clarified. Since this was my first personal experience with Treadwright (had only seen them in action/driven other vehicles with them) I wanted to follow the directions to the T and do the static balance. Now that I have the tires, I see no reason why Dynabeads wouldn't work great! So much so, I will probably still get some shortly and replace my regular weights.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. I'll order some tonight. Because my TW's are going onto my steel wheels, I'm going to mount them myself with a tire hammer and a little sweat. So using Dynabeads saves me time and money of taking the wheels/tires anywhere to be worked on. I get to do it all myself!

Just bumping the thread to see if anyone ended up ordering the Dynabeads and what their experiences with them were. Considering getting some for my new tires, and the motorcycles too.

Any updates from anyone running these? I just picked up a new set of rims and I'm considering trying these out. I'm running a 265/75/16 duratrac now.

i used them for a week . emptied them out and went back to standard weights. not worth the hype.

I ran them in the 285/75/16 Duratracs I had on my Land Cruiser, you could hear them faintly at low speeds with the windows down (not a problem, just interesting), and they worked pretty well for the most part. I had a vibration in the steering wheel so brought it back to the tire shop, they waranteed that tire and rebalanced that tire with stick-on weights, and that fixed the vibration. Can't say if the problem was with the tire or the beads, likely an issue with the tire the beads couldnt' overcome.

Another interesting thing about the beads, I was playing around in the garage with an ARB EZ-Deflator I got for Christmas, and once it was aired down I tried to pull the ARB unit off, and the valve kept leaking air! It took me a while to figure it out, but one of the beads got stuck in the valve so it wouldn't close! The beads were tiny, and like glass, bigger beads likely wouldn't have this issue. Just another thing to be aware of, having the valve stem at the top of the tire would likely reduce the chance of this happening as well.

Bringing back an old thread but want to give my experience. First, I have 285/75/16 Hankook MTs on 16x8.5 Level 8 Trackers. With everything balanced, it runs about 100% smooth on all speeds except 60-70mph. Between those miles I get around 90% smoothness. Being that I am OCD, I want 100%. So I looked into Dynabeads and went with the "larger" offroad size they offer. The reason why I went with the larger size is because I don't want to have to change out my valves stems with their "filtered" ones which is required for their standard size beads. With the larger size beads you can just dump the beads into the tires and be done with it.

I get a slight vibration in my steering wheel and seat between 60-70 mph. Nothing extreme but noticeable, especially if you're OCD like me. So I had my tire place drop 8oz of beads into each tire and I immediately jumped on the freeway and drove. Smooooth!!! 100%, I am now a believer!

FYI, I kept the stick on weights and use the beads as a supplement. Most companies that make these types of beads claim that you can completely remove the standard weights. After doing some research, people have said with just he beads alone you might get some vibration until the beads do their thing which is around 30 mph. I opted to use both and I get zero vibration on any speed.

I've done a little research about this a while ago. I've read that this started from guys using coolant in their tires and would have a balancing effect.
This thread reminds me, I should get some dynabeads. Tired of these no good for nothing techs that can't balance properly even using the road force ballancer...
