I was @ the local parts store and noticed they have a Dynomax Ultra Flo muffler. I was wondering if anyone had one on their runner or know of anyone who does. What kind of sound does it have, mellow rumble or throaty ricer? I have used flowmaster, magnaflow and glass pack mufflers in the past. Just looking for a high flow muffler with a mellow rumble. I am was considering another flowmaster 50 series. What are your thought? Thanks!

My friend has a dynomax super turbo, it sounds stock. Only time you can hear any difference is at pretty much WOT and slightly at idle. Only difference is that it flows way more cfm than stock. Mellow is as good a word as any.

Its the one I plan to get.

I looked @ the Super turbo also. I like the free flow design of the Ultra Flo a little better. I don't mind slighty louder than stock, just not looking to give my self a headache driving down the road. Thanks!

Both, aren't we all? My old muffler has developed pin holes in the spot welds. I have about 10k miles on my rebuild, so now it is time to do some tuning for better mpg and some performance. My MPG have dropped off some and a get a code(P0120) occasionally. I am getting new plugs this weekend that will take of the misfire. Will clean the TB, MAF, IAC and do the ISR mod @ that time so he came breathe better. I will be replacing the cat as well. I know it has to be about shot when the motor blew and dumped water and oil into the exhaust system!

Just dont get too obsessed with a super high flow exhaust. A naturally aspirated engine can still only push out so much at a time. Im S/C'd and the super turbo is still more than enough. But get what you want, i can only give advice.

Youtube "toyota 3.4 dynomax" and you will get a bunch of stuff.

True, if I open it too much I will lose some pressure and preformance as well. I never seen the Dynomax mufflers before and was curious as to folks expirience with them. Thanks your your help!

i have the ultra flow... i belive its 18" i gotta crawl under soo and fix the cat to tailpipe joint is leaking from the mount breaking but i could take a video if you want? I have your same prople with the rust... its pretty aggressive sounding being all stock pipe with just the mufler welded in

That would be great. Rust isn't too bad down here in redneck land, thank goodness. It will get the best of us in the end! A video would be great, thanks alot!

I get the drone when I have the throttle cruising. I deal with it. first impression was it was better off the line from the old stock.
didnt notice MPG gain cause I have slightly bigger tires.

would consider buying again, but not OMG sold on it. it works for what is suppost to.

i compleatly agree.. i think it dose sound better than a trd exhaust tho!

I've had superturbos

0n both my 98 and 00. Both were the 24" version. Once they break in they produce a nice tone that could best described as a tad louder then stock but doesnt produce a "drone" tone at fwy speeds.

Well, I just finished installing the Dynomax Super Turbo. I think is sounds great. It is as quiet as the stock muffler @ ilde. It has a mellow sound @ crusing speed and mellow rumble when taking off thru the RPM band. It as a slight drone sound from 1000-1500 rpm, not bad though. I think it will settle in quite nicely after I put some miles on it. Thanks for everyone's advise.

How does the cfm compare between the Dynomax ST and the stock muffler? Is the difference so great it decreases performance?
