So I'm to the point where I think my E-Brake cable is in need of replacement. So far I've done new pads, drum, and bellcranks.
My problem is, when I pull the handle up to engage the brake it's real tuff to pull. From the first click I'm experiencing resistance. Then when I go to release the brake I push the button on the handle and the handle falls to the resting position and does not release the bellcranks. Now I have no resistance on the handle at all I can pull it to the original position before releasing or anywhere In between. I also notice the cable inside the center counsel is lifted to where the handle pulled it up the first time, in order to get that cable to retract I have to go around back and hit the bell cranks loose.
Now the bellcranks are fine I replaced them and they are free moving when no cable is attached.
I also noticed the cable where it connect to the second cable that runs along the axle is missing the boot that fits over the end, so I'm thinking it's corroded and binding up.
Is that cable hard to replace? And get everything properly aligned?
It's really my last option seeing how I've done everything else.:mmph:
Oh yeah it's a 5-speed
