E-Locker and Differential Breather install, Trail Edition

So just to clarify here, you ran 2 separate lines, one from e-locker, and one from diff, to the front to where the ARB unit was installed? And you just used everything in the kit? How exactly did you fm connect the e locker tube to ARB tube?

Yes two separate lines one from diff and one from e-locker to the breather in the engine bay. The kit has 26 feet of tube, the manifold for accepting up to four fittings and lines, four fittings, three plugs for unused ports and the breather oh and zip ties. I used one fitting to replace the one way valve on the diff and ran that to the manifold in the engine bay. I then had enough line to run from the e-locker to the manifold. I bought a straight universal vaccme couper to connect the ARB tube to the e-locker tube. I then used some gorilla tape to secure the connections.

Cool thanks. Haven't gotten a chance to get under and look at it yet. Wasn't sure if you could get to where the e-locker valve is it or if you just had to cut the line running out and attach it to new one. Appreciate it.

I just pulled the valve out of the existing tube. It came out easily by hand. Maybe it would be better to replace the actual e-locker fitting on top but I did not find easy access to he top of the e-locker. Maybe I'm just lazy. lol

No leave the e-locker tube in place and connect the arb line to it using a straight coupler. It would be very difficult to get access up to the top of the e-locker itself. Using the tube makes it easy.
The arb kit includes all the parts necessary to replace the stock breather. Why use the stock tubing and fitting on the e-locker?

I guess I'll have to see when I order my kit.

I was going to ask if you had done it already and were able to see and get at the top of the e-locker? If you find a way to get your hands and eyeballs up there let me know. I had a headlamp and safety glasses on and felt like a spelunker under there. lol I do not have a shop. I do this in my drive way with basic tools. If you manage it let me know. I'll give it a try.

You're definitely better off connecting to the e-locker breather at the end of its stock run. The tubing is integrated into the wiring harness that runs the locker, which is nice because it's already protected and more importantly sized to allow for axle movement. Toyota ended the e-locker breather in a convenient spot on the frame so all you need to do is connect to it and run your extended line as you please.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to buy my kit have I get done with this solar panel GB. Actually waiting for total automotive to respond to a few PMS.

Cool. Got it done. Thanks for all the input guys. It went smoothly. I had enough line the the ARB kit, barely. I left a bit too much slack on the first run, so second run was tight. Probably would have been better to just but ARB line exactly in half before starting.

How did you do the e-locker breather? Did you take the stock tubing and etc off and use all the arb or use a connector for the tubing?

Well if you read a few posts up. You'd see the reasoning for the question.

But my question was pointed towards the member who just used the arb kit and I wanted to know what he did. I know what was stated above in the post. Not say using the stock tubing is wrong. I just wanted to know what the member did when he installed his kit. Just wanting other opinions who did use the arb kit. That is all.[emoji56]

i'm trying to help you. you keep asking questions about using the ARB fitting on the e-locker (in addition to the diff) and i'm simply trying to set you on the right track here.

trust me, you're overthinking this. coupling the ARB tubing to the terminus of the OEM e-locker tubing is what you want to do. slip out the one-way breather, slip in your coupler, attach the ARB line, and secure both sides. when you get hands on it'll become clear.

Thanks . I understand what your saying and your probably right that it'll be clearer when I do go to do the mod. Thanks for the help

This

Used coupler listed before and it worked with no issues. Good luck!

Does anyone know what diameter barb fitting to use to connect to the e-locker tubing end? Obviously the end that connects to the ATB tubing is 5/16 (8mm).
