I kind of feel I started this derail. Again controlling boost with throttle is not easy. You can be trying to climb a hit, with low throttle and the turbo starts too spool and you then get more power and start to spin. Its not easy to rock crawl with a turbo even at low boost. The small turbos hit hard and thats not good for traction. Ask the fwd honda kids. For offroading the SC is still the better option. this kit is to make power.

damn all thsse turbo threads lol..even tho I just dropped $$$ for my 7th injector kit I'm thinking of ditching the supercharger and going rear turbo lol.
I'm very tempted to drop my supercharger for this kit because:
A: Intercooler!
B: no more belt slip and no more parasitic drag to run the boost.
these alone should net you a sizable amount of power over the supercharger at the same boost levels ~8psi.
My concerns lie entirely with the crappy turbo the kit comes with.
Somewhere someone mentioned tossing the turbo they sell with this kit and I agree. that thing will fail soon or sooner, there are many documented cases of this exact turbo failing.
However a real garrett gt35 is $800..
Singtoe mentioned the aem fic, I have one of these and I think it would handle the turbo kit with zero problems as long as you get it wired up correctly. I bought a pnp harness from tokensolutions and it works perfect. You would also need some bigger injectors. again; TS sells pnp injectors for 5vz's up to 1000cc's.
If you go to cxracing and you wanted to just buy the manifolds and the intercooler you'd be at $1050. then pick your poison for turbo and bov. plus fuel management.
I say go for it, I think i'm going to bark up this tree next spring after taxes.

If anything I would contact CXracing and see if they would sell the setup without the turbo.
A small amount of turbo boost can actually increase engine longevity. It doesn't work as hard to create the same hp output, thus reducing the need to rev to achieve the same results as an N/A motor. Turbo's aren't new people, semi trucks use them and see a million miles or more before a rebuild, so saying you won't install one because it decreases engine life means you're plain misinformed.
The best option for low end grunt is the 2uz-fe.
If the turbo is dialed in right, there will be minimum lag. I so want to do this but it will need an auxiliary controller and I'm not sure what to do.,,,
All hot air...there's no way you can argue that adding extra pressure to engine internals is better for a high mileage engine than a lower gear ratio.
