eBay timing chain kits...anybody used them?

I generally agree....when the price difference is 2-3x, I'll go wit OE. In this case, I need it all...previous guy who did headgaskets failed to tighten the bolts holding the tensioner a to the heads, they came off and beat the hell out of everything...somehow, the bank 2 exhaust valves didn't get bent, even though the sub-chain broke. OE for the whole pile is over $700.
I ordered up a set through ITM...i've used their stuff before and had mostly good results...we'll see....going together Thursday hopefully.

I bought an ebay kit over 3 years ago, and it was good. Gates belt, water pump etc.. No problems yet.

I ran into an issue...the main chain tensioner is made wrong. If you look a an OE part, it is relieved, or effectively counterbored 0.200" where the bolt heads reside...the ITM, and most of the other aftermarket units I can find pictures off, are not. This results in only about 1.5 threads available to hold the tensioner to the engine.
I have a mill so I quickly reworked the part and went about my business. I have a meeting tomorrow with my contact at ITM to chat about this.

I have a 2006 v6 sr5 with 125,000 miles and I have the timing chain cover leak that I see is very common.
Is there a write up on removing the timing chain cover? I have searched everywhere to find one. First time posing here and first issue with this 4runner after buying it new. Dealership said it could be around $1200 dollars to fix.
Any advice would be very appreciated.
