eBay uniball control arms?

Has anyone seen/tried these. Incredible price. Probably not made of 4130 chromoly like the total chaos or camburgs but might be a viable solution for those on a budget.

EDIT: Seems these work well, if you upgrade the hardware to Grade 8 3/4" bolt for the uniball. Thanks to [MENTION=73515]ajonesnv[/MENTION] for the writeup showing where to get new bushings if needed, and correct installation. For 4th gens, dont need to worry about the slug adapter as we dont have one.

eBay Upper Control Arms Write-Up/Review

All of the UCA's on the market have the zirk fittings on the bottom or back of the arm, so that the top gussets are not imposed upon.

Lastly, several were able to bolt them on and run them with no problems. I did run into the issues of the short sleeve, but like the write-up says All-Pro sells identical bushings and at a great price...they are really great guys up there in MT, so that fixed my issues.

Haha yeah, not sure how its a lift kit either. And Ive had other ebay control arms for my integra which worked great actually. Maybe they realized there is a market for offroad ones too. If I didnt have arms already Id take the risk

I ordered rear coil spring spacers from this vendor on eBay only because I'm on a strict budget. It took them two times to send the correct spacers and customer service was horrible. I learned my lesson and probably would choose my vendors wisely next time, you get what you pay for.

I sent them a message to ask about the size of the uniball and what material they're made from. If they respond, I'll share.

I should've asked how the "lift" part of these works, maybe next time.

Yeah, thats about what I expected in terms of customer service. I wanna see someone buy them too. I feel like they cant be too bad, the only issue I see is really cheap uniballs corroding or breaking. Somebody with some extra cash should try it out though haha

Yeah Im curious as well. If they're DOM Id say they're strong enough, I think chromoly is a bit overkill for most people. Post up what the seller responds, if he does that is haha

plenty of people have had them snap at the arm/mount location and the ball joints go out very quickly. Not to mention a new bushing design every 3 months.

Since you are new here the LR UCA's have documented examples of cracking welds, shotty bushings that crumble and quick wearing ball joints that can create a unsafe situation. But for many price is the driving factor and for many failure will not occur. They have redesigned them numerous times and failures continue. I do value my life and my families life more than saving a few hundred dollars. I won't buy another LR after my prior issues with them.

Eh, I'll play devil's advocate here for a bit...

I've seen a set fail on a vehicle due to weld issues (also due to driving style & suspension set-up/overloading the vehicle for suspension used), but I run them on my 4th gen currently and I off-road it pretty hard with no failures. I did have the bushings on my first set go out in a year, to which SPC (the company that now owns LR) exchanged free of charge and I have not had any further issues since.

Personally I would say they have a bad rap (mostly earned from what I have seen/read), but the newer stuff seems much improved. They are the more affordable out there and I prefer their solution to alignment than most other UCAs. At least for me and a few other people, their customer service has been top notch, even when there have been failures they have been quick to correct the issue; so I can't fault them there. All that being said, its still a "buyer beware" deal; they don't fail as much as people try to make them out to, but they have had some drastic failures as a result of manufacturing... so I can't exactly say they're perfect either.

All I can really say is that they haven't broken on my vehicle and I wheel hard enough to bend my 3/16" RCI Skid Plates and constantly knock my alignment out (I need to get the updated LCA tabs welded on my truck one of these days.) Though in the future I will be going to a stronger Uniball set-up when I finalize my designed suspension set-up.

Wow thats actually pretty cool. Seems like they know what theyre talking about (at least to some extent). If I didnt have arms already, I would definitely buy them now haha
