ECGS clamshell bushing headcount?

How many v6 guys have done this replacement?? I know it's popular over on tacomaworld, but haven't seen it much here.

I have some vibration symptoms, but not the actual symptoms described that subside with putting it into 4wd. But I'm replacing my whole cv axels in the coming days and am debating if I should just go ahead and do this while the drivers side is out. Not sure if the needle bearing is bound to fail eventually or not?

I did suspension UCA and cv shafts on my runner a few months ago. I immediately got the vibration. The bushing solved that issue. And if you have the tools. It really is a pretty easy process if you take your time.

I've replaced my front diff needle bearing with the ECGS bearing. If you're replacing CVs, that would be a good time to do it for sure. Might as well replace that CV to diff seal too.

I'll second JFRY008. I swapped mine about a year and a half ago. Make sure you get the puller from them or another forum member since your standard bearing puller isn't going to be able to seat in behind the original.

I had mine done as part of the overall service when ECGS did my gears. Wasn't necessarily an issue for me, but a preventive measure.

From what I understand we actually have more robust Ball bearing setup since its the constant 4wd that shouldn't ever need replacing. which is why this spacer will not work on the v8 or manual fj's (same setup)

Different front pumpkin than the smaller ADD front diffs on the V6's.

Honestly it's not nearly as common on the 4th & 5th gens as it is on the 2nd & 3rd gen Tacomas. Not sure why since I could have sworn they're the same parts.

That being said, if you do have the issue the bushing helps.
