Got some great news this morning. Ecotechne explained that the whole thing with the racks not being able to ship is not in part of anything going on in Venezuela. The reason why DHL wasn't able to fulfill going through customs and why they had to return the racks was because Venezuela provides permits for exportation of goods. DHLs permit expired and are now working diligently to get that permit active again. Echotechne said it shouldn't be too long before they get that active.

Thanks! I think the tray, cross bar and sliding side rails are definitely an improvement. Im still not as sold on the front fairing. I think it makes getting a light bar almost necessary. Maybe the step is not as noticeable from ground level. I have a rack coming (9th batch) and was about to buy some black oxide hardware. After looking at your pics, im wondering if the bolts or washers need to be larger than the 3/8 everyone is picking up. I will probably get 1/2" Stainless Steel bolts, washers, nuts, and rubber washers. Then scuff and spray paint them with black SEM trim paint.

New design looks good, but before I powder coat it, looks like I need to drill more mounting holes (3/8") on the top sides of the crossbars and tray. The holes are for awning mounts, Tred Pros, hi-lift, rotopax, and Plano rifle case. Shovel will go on the side of rack with custom mounts and Quick Fists. I am debating buying the rhino rack mesh rack and securing it on top to expand my mounting options.

I ordered my rack (v 2.0) with the original front fairing as the parts are interchangeable. I think the new front fairing looks nice, but will probably whistle like crazy with all the holes.

I am excited to get mine.

With the new changes to the racks( size of the slots) looking at the last photo, I would go larger than 3/8, the head screws and washers are not biting enough of the rack to safely secure the cross bars/trays for strength. For that application the washers should also be bigger and thicker too.

Well that's a bummer. I ordered the 3/8 hardware before the lastest photo of V2.0. Any idea what size we need to go up to?

Doubtful. It is probably being held until the proper documents arrive. I also doubt it'll take long as DHL is losing money and costing others money so it's probably priority 1 for them right now.

That will get you the size option to use. Or measure the hardware it comes with and explore your options. With the new changes made to v.2 maybe someone who already has v.2 can help you with that. If not, then I'll have to wait for my rack to arrive to try that or whomever gets theirs before I do and wants to upgrade to the black hardware can do it.

I'm sure that one will come in. Do you know if they shipped through DHL? If they shipped with FedEx it will stay there on the tracking until it is delivered to your home. Mine

It was shipped DHL. According to the tracking it has been in Miami for 13 days.

I'll make sure their shipping department contacts DHL about this. It's already out of South America so it shouldn't be just sitting there.

I finally got to install the prototype rack. This rack took almost a month in a half to get here because of FedEx shipping and then a little longer Getting painted but it was well worth the wait. All I can say is Ecotechne has listened and I had no problems installing. The only problem I ran into is not having the bolts to bolt the L brackets to the roof...

For those of you asking if you can just purchase the front faring, I've confirmed that it will not work. They had to make adjustments to the whole rack so that the LED cut out fit properly.

Over all I think everyone will be excited with this new design. I'll try and get more photos this weekend.
