ECT button

Zombie thread comes back to life! The ECT button is far from useless! Especially helpful if you do any drag racing in your AT 4Runner.

I do some drag racing... sorta. The speed governor make it not so fun for the autos, can't get past around 107. The ECT button does make a difference though, especially if you drive in hills/mountains.

I average 17.5 mpg almost every fill up and I always have had the ECT button on. I turned it off this last fill up. I will report back.

Curious as I average 18-19 with it off

Currently trying a tank with it on. The truck drives more responsively which is nice.

That little button makes a difference when loaded up in those mountain passes. You get less of that gear change and lack of power when going up a hill. I've asked before, but does anyone know if it alters the shift points in 4wd as well?

First test, fuel economy was 19.5 vs the usual 18.5 mpg. I'm now on tank two and will reply back with the next results
