Edelbrock shocks on closeout...

Looks like it, but I'm just eye balling. I'm going to cancel my order on the rear, I don't know if I would trust that at the track on my end.

well shoot i said if these gave me problems i would get a full coilover setup lol, i guess i lied ill try the adapter first. i mean toytec is useing them and offering them on shocks so it must not be that unsafe

Wow, that sucks. I was really looking forward to these. Any chance you got sent the wrong shocks by mistake? If mine come in like this I'll be calling them to see if I can get a return. Not worth the chance on these. If I'm going to have over $100 in these I'll just buy the 5100s to match my fronts.

Ok, after a little more research, I think I've found the answer. The shocks we ordered are part number 34114. This is the Tacoma shock, in which the eye mount is correct. The part we should have ordered is 34112, which is the FJ shock with a stem mount on the top. This is not a mistake on our part, they were listed incorrectly on the edelbrock site.

I'm calling them later today. I'm hoping I can refuse to accept the package so it goes back to them and they'll issue a refund. I'll post back once I get a chance to talk to them.

Well looked at my receipt 34114 claims its for an 07-09 fj let me know what you guys find out. I'm a little screwed since sending it back will cost me a ton

Ay Crap..... Sorry about that guys.

Guess i might be stuck with some Tacoma rears. we'll see what shows up in the mail today.

Just got off the phone, I told them the problem so they know. They said if you refuse the package it will return to them and they will issue a full refund. My order shipped on the 31st but I did not know, I thought mine were still being made. I would call them first and tell them to explain your situation. Its a bit more time consuming but is the simplest way.

At least they will work with you. Based on that, I'd gladly exchange if they had the correct shocks available. I still plan on calling later today, hope it worths out the same for me.

here is what i did ark was correct 34112 is the correct number we are supposed to have. they have the correct one in stock but wont do the 32.60 each, but they will do 57.03. so i have the right ones on the way to me again with free shipping again lol and ups is coming by today to grab the wrong ones.
my package receipt different from the one we got online

Thanks for the updates. I really want to try these out, but I can get 5100 rears for only $30 more, so I think I'm going to take this route instead.

Gn864: no reason to be sorry, want your fault.

Thanks... I was thinking the same. For a few bucks more I can have a matched set of Bilsteins front and rear.

well you will know how they work out, they will either be up for sale soon or work just fine

Did they tell you what the correct part # was supposed to be?

34112
they mailed me the correct one and will refund me the money as soon as mine get back to them.

honestly the only reason im sticking with this is the fact that, any where else will make me pay50-100 in shipping so this still works out better for me

Look forward to hearing your thoughts once they're installed. If I didn't already have bilstein front shocks I'd most likely give these a try if they could get me the right parts.

Edit: Just got off the phone with them. I'm going to refuse the shipment and they will offer a full refund. I must say I'm very impressed with their customer service. I called and immediately got through to a sales rep who was very helpful and apologetic. She said they've been getting a lot of these calls today for some reason, I just had to smile and laugh. Very pleased with the service, will definitely turn to Edelbrock in the future if they have the parts I need.

I"m going to call Edelbrock as well and see about refusing the shipment.
Problem is when the UPS guys drop packages off they don't even knock at my place.

Sorry to step into this thread a little late but here's a response from a parts vendor regarding the Edelbrock shocks over on 120.

While the deal sounds good, there is good reason for blowing out Edelbrock shocks, IMO...they have a history of premature failure in my experience. We stopped selling them several years ago, when we noticed virtually every set we sold came back with leaking issues or poor ride complaints. Icon Vehicle Dynamics used to source their standard rear monotube shocks from Edelbrock - and it was the only IVD product which we had consistent leak issues. (NOTE: Icon no longer sell that model shock they now built their own VS 2.0 series in-house to maintain quality and warranty control).

So I would suggest avoiding this deal, and investing in a shock that will last, made by a company that will be able to replace the product if you do have any issues...
