Eibach needs a stock TRD PRO in SoCal

I was talking to someone at Eibach about the applicability of the TRD pro springs with the 2019-2020 TRD Pros. The rep mentioned that the springs will fit 2019 and 2020 and unless I had taken my 4runner to the dealer due to sounds from the front shocks because the dealer has been replacing the shock assemblies with 2021 Fox shocks.

My question is what kind of service life(mileage) are people getting on the stock Fox TRD pro shocks before they have to replace them? I know there are a lot of variables involved but it would be a bummer to change out to the Eibach springs and have to replace the shock a short time later.

Fox recommends sending them in every 50k to be done and such. At least I believe 8 read that somewhere.

Called them.

Just called and got mine ordered as well...he was saying shipping in March maybe...actual sales order they sent says Back order eta of 4/1/22........There were 3 other orders in front of mine.

Got these installed yesterday...I swear the truck should have come from the factory like this. Great job to Eibach for making these available!

Curious....why do you say silly? I suspect you got lucky and did not have clunky fox shocks. Mine were driving me crazy over every little bump, felt like a loose strut or worn out ball joint. Anyways...got new shocks at 25k miles.

I had a slight noise once in a while, primarily if it was cold out which, quite frankly, doesn’t happen here often. Never paid attention to it and didn’t bother me so never even considered having it addressed. Good for me I guess since I get to use the Eibach springs without waiting

Yeah the issue is definitely location dependent. For those in mild climates, it’s probably more of a hassle to have to time your service appointment on a cold day since they have to confirm the issue.

I’m in the upper Midwest where we get below freezing temperatures for a few months of the year. After 2yrs of procrastinating, finally getting the TSB done soon - dealer waiting on parts.

Good luck. I had mine replaced under the TSB last winter. Same issue this winter. Grew tired of return trips to the dealership, so I put a deposit on a GX and selling the Pro.

Looks great. What tires and size are you running?

Thanks. I’m biased but I really think it’s sitting really nicely.

The rubber is Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3. E rated in stock 265/70-17 size. They work amazingly well in the desert environment.

Took it out yesterday for a shake down run, couple hundred miles of mixed pavement and dirt deep into the Mojave Preserve. The springs feel great. No change in ability to tackle the washboard and whoops at speed and the added clearance was immediately noticeable too. It’s a great solution for the Fox Pro shocks and competes the set up.

Fair enough. Didn’t mean to downplay the issue in general, but for me, yeah, totally not worth the hassle and it looks like if I did swap the struts,!id have been SOL for the lift springs.
