Eibach Pro-truck lift

Don’t be surprised if you install the Wheeler T-13 and get about the same 1” of lift the Eibach rear spring does. The new Wheeler T-13 springs I got were the exact same length when held side by side to the Eibach Pro kit rear springs and gave the same 1” lift even though they stated 1.5” lift. Only visible difference on mine was the Wheeler T-13 are powdercoated black instead of Eibach silver. It was a waste of time and money and I ended up selling my Wheeler T-13s here on the forum and went back to the Eibach springs the kit came with. All is good now and I am happy with it. YMMV of course.

Very frustrating. Saved me the headache tho. Thank you.

Is that with your springs fully settled?

Yes. The pic is after about 3 months and 3,000 miles on the Eibach Pro Kit. Lift height measurement hasn't changed.

That gif is exactly how I felt when I swapped them expecting more lift, only to find it was the same.

Dude I would have launched one of those coils through my 3rd row window. Then I would said something like, "GREAT! NOW I CAN F C KING PAY FOR THAT TOO!"

Honestly I think I'm being pretty fussy over a half inch of lift. Should prob just let it go and do the kit on it's own.

Did you end up running UCA's? People seem to say it drives fine. I worry about tire wear over time.

Yes, JBA UCAs. I would recommend doing the kit on its own and using the money you saved not getting different springs and use it towards the UCA, but that's just me. Drives like a dream and everything aligned great - got about 4.5 degrees of caster.

Sorry read through a majority of this thread pages but still have a few questions,

I own a SR5 with third row and would like a small lift for clearance off-roading(and dont mind the looks improvement too)

Was looking at the bilstein but like this Eibach kit since a fully designed spring/shock setup vs piecemeal.

What worries me about this kit is the leveling it provides, i.e. 2.75"f 1"r.

1. I take it everyone is leveling their headlights after install? Does Eibach do this when they install the kit?
2. Would you say this kit is for the street/looks and not ideal for camping/offroading?

Basically it seems if you have any kind of load in the rear your will be sagging, I recently went camping with a full loaded rear cargo plus 2 bikes on the rear and was getting flashed about my headlights. Wondering if I install this it would be worse.

TIA

See Ryan's post earlier in this thread (#735). If you eliminate the factory rake and maintain stock rear spring rates, you will sag more (rear relative to front) under cargo/towing load than you already do with stock suspension. No free lunch. You can increase rear spring rate, but that comes with compromises to unloaded ride and handling. One solution that is sometimes employed is to add airbags to the rear and keep them at minimum pressure when you are not towing or loaded.

*Edited to remove definitive "Yes" to bolded question. Eibach spring rates are higher than at least some OEM trims.

You sure it was the headlights? You would have had to compress the rear 3" or so. I don't see camping gear and couple bikes doing that.

I've lifted every truck I have owned and never messed with the lights.

thanks but I do not see his question directly answered. Are the Eibach springs stiffer then stock ones?

I have HIDs in my stock housing so people are probably more sensitive with my setup. Not sure what the stock spring rate is but maybe very soft. Your kit is dropping the rear by 1.5" right so I would expect the headlights to go up:shrug:

yeah I saw that pic, nice 911. I have a 996 turbo

Looks real good.

However, now you "need" a TRD or other brand skid plate.

I kinda wished I bought this Arb skid plate set instead of the Toyota TRD Skid plate.

Thank you I like it a lot too. I did notice that now that is lifted it shows more the underside and the front end doesn't look as nice. Honestly i dont really need it because here where I live there are no mountains or any hills to climb! but i may get something just for appearance.. maybe a bull bar would just do it.. it will have to wait until the wallet recovers lol

Mutant138 a couple of notes that I had for you- I realize this process is sort of mind-numbing but I think you're on the right track and making sure the details are fine tuned to your liking will pay off on the back end.

Speaking of back ends, regarding the rear lift... yes I believe my 1.5" T13s got me the slight amount of additional rear lift I was after- I've seen the posts about them only yielding 1" also. Not sure what to say about that other than I'm still glad I did it the way I did. To my eyes the 1" spring that comes with the EPT kit has everyone using it with a very slight but identifiable amount of squat that mine does not have. Obviously everything is weight dependent and every 4R is a little different.

FWIW, I bought the components separately- front shocks, rear shocks, front springs, and then bought the T13s from Wheelers, so I'm not sitting on unused rear springs from the kit. Everything was the same price separately that it was together, but obviously the T13s were $40 more than the 1" Eibachs from the kit. Also, I confirmed with Wheeler's that the extended length of the rear shocks is the same as Bilstein 5100s (and Ryan @ Eibach), so putting more than 1" lift on wasn't going to cause damage. I wish Eibach would offer this kit with the option to choose your rear spring height.

Lastly, unless you absolutely need a ball joint UCA, check out the UCAs from Dobinsons- no greasing necessary, like OEM. Nothing against the other options but why grease of you don't need to? They're my next purchase.

Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting about the T13 coils. Every truck seems to lift a bit different so I would imagine small variations make the difference. I wonder if anyone has gone with the 1.5-2" OME spring for the rear.

UCA Greasing. I have the grease gun and can just add it to the list when I hit the driveshaft zerks. If they aren't noisy and don't break I'm going for price.

I have a 1 week old SR5 4wd, I am looking at this kit and want to know the largest size tire I can fit without any modifications to any plastic, mudflaps, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I run this kit and 265 A/T tires with the trd wheels and 1.25" spacers and I get a tiny bit of rub on the mud flap in front when fully turned. I'm going to remedy that next week. I think without the spacers there'd be no rubbing.

Yep no spacers no rubbing, with 265 toyo's

I have seen references suggesting that the Eibach springs may be roughly 10% stiffer than stock. However, I think OEM spring rates may vary by trim, and I'm not sure how wide manufacturing tolerances are. Maybe Ryan can chime in.

This thread suggests that OEM rear spring rate is 180 lb, but it's not the only number I've seen thrown around.

Eibach Pro Kit is installed. Used these guys in Springfield Missouri:
BKS Built Trucks, LLC

$475 OTD with wheel alignment. Need to give her a wash and will post pics tomorrow.

Driving impressions - seems more taught through the curves. Less ponderous. Nose dive on braking is significantly less. Looks badass!
