Eibach Pro-truck lift

I just had a local dealer here in DFW install the Eibach kit along with some SPC upper control arms. I had tire rub before, but with my caster now sitting at about 4.7 the rub is gone (running 275/65 right now). Overall, I am thrilled with the kit and highly recommend it. It just soaks up all of the road imperfections like it's nothing now. Very composed and it handles on rails in the corners. Here are some before and after pics. I had a Revtek front spacer kit before the Eibach kit. I should have just done the Eibach kit to begin with!

Do you get any rubbing with the 285/70r17 tires? Or did you have to do some modifications to make them work? I am getting a Eibach installed and I am debating on 275's or 285's. Thanks.

If you are going to be running either of those tire sizes, I highly recommend installing adjustable upper control arms when you have the Eibach kit installed. I would probably still be rubbing if it weren't for the control arms and the caster we were able to achieve with them.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but your wheel offset is going to be an important variable here. I had an aggressive offset (don’t remember what it is unfortunately) and I rubbed with 275s on 17x9s and needed the bmc.

Just finished mine with the ring on lowest setting. It is to late to measure, I am shot but the front looks higher then the rear? Is this normal during break in? Springs are seated properly, everything torqued down.

thanks guys

Pro 2 coilovers. Sadly be a couple weeks till I can get them in.
Ryan, any idea what these are set right out the box?

Just an update with the stage 2. The shop had a hell of a time with these, pulled them and adjusted them 6 times now and they still are not right. Got home and passenger was 1/2" higher.
I called Eibach and talked to tech support and they told me something completely different than they told my shop. Told shop to adjust and test where it sits. Problem is you need to pull the strut each time.
I called Eibach and they tracked down the R&D guy who knows about these and this is what I was told.---- need to release the preload, said I should be able to compress the spring on the rig while it's jacked up. Then said 12 turns =1" of lift or 3 turns for 1/4". Perfect, I run to harbor freight and get the spring compressor for 30bucks....it don't fit on the coils. Maybe they sell coil compressor that will fit while installed???
What did I find out? Jacked the rig up to attempt the adjustment and since could do nothing put the tire on and done. I measured before and again afterwards. Just jacking it up and lowering it, not driving the rig raised the whole damn front 3/4". I can only recommend set the damn things, forget the alignment and put a few hundred miles and hope they settle. No wonder shop had a hard time, they move every time he lifted it up....without adjustment. Next is the 12 threads per inch theroy. My shop left them at 7 threads from the bottom. One side got 1.5" the other 2".....so much for the 12 threads per inch. Will report back in a few hundred miles. Anyone else, please report back findings, I really want to know if mine are ****ed up or if they simply need to settle.
Edit- I've read so much that for true measurements check at 1/2 tank of gas. After giving up the the day, had 1/4 tank. went to the gas station and measured before and after being a full tank. The measurements were identical, adding gas did nothing. Also the eibach rear springs got 1.5" lift, not the advertised 1"...maybe they will settle 1/2" ?

That is normal- even happens with stock unmodified suspension- when you jack it up the wheels move in and lower- setting it back down the tires have to scoot sideways some to get normal height back- as soon as you roll it a few feet the extra disappears as the tires scoot over.

Thanks, good to know.
Anyone know how long it takes these to settle in?
I've had fox, bilstien and toytecs and just set them and go, what's different with Eibachs?

I am currently on the Eibach kit and have been running it and 285s for 3 years on stock UCA's no issues. Plenty of people have installed this kit and run 285s as well, you might thumb through this thread as there is plenty of info. Also, switched to aftermarket Pro Comp 17x9 -6 wheels and no problems. I did trim the front of the fender a little, just the plastic flap, no biggie at all. I don't think you should run into any issues unless with 295s possibly, wheels spacers, or SCS 17x9 -38 wheels, etc.

I love the Eibach kit.

I have 285/70/17 cooper at3 xlt and it rubs on front fender liner/bumper on just driver side. I plan to push the liner in and trim bumper a little this weekend to resolve it. I have the tires on my stock wheels in case you are wondering.

Well man, thanks for being one of the first consumer guinea pigs I guess. A few thoughts/questions. I guess my big theme is "How/why would a leader in the suspension world send out a product that wasn't ready for prime time?" I have no stake in this other than being a potential future customer through various vehicle builds.

1. Do you think the spanner wrench was indeed weak and a culprit in the installation issues? Any chance your shop/installers were part of the issue? I'm sure during development and testing, Eibach wasn't pulling the whole coilover every time they adjusted it. Like with Toytec's spanner, it isn't super duty but you can put a pipe on it for more torque, no issue.

2. Any time the vehicle is raised off the ground, the vehicle has to be at a minimum rolled forward and backward some to let the suspension and wheels/tires do their thing. I'd put some miles on before going in for an alignment for sure to let everything settle.

3. Can you post some pics of the printed instructions and of the spanner wrench? I'm genuinely curious where the gap was here.

It'll iron out. Most of the stuff we worry about is small potatoes. Frustrating when we spend hard-earned money on stuff I know though. Re: your rear coils, I think I've read several in this thread say they settled to right at 1" pretty quickly. Maybe stick a little weight in the back to ease your mind until then. :artist:

Not sure

At this time there are no directions - Gap was the sales pitch leading up to this point
See above, basically- I don't know what the answer is. I guess I should have waited. I was a test dummy for the Morimoto headlights last year, should have learned my lesson. Not the shops fault zero directions and tech support gives multiple answers.
I'm venting because I paid 3 days on a rental car for what should have been a 2-3 hour job. Paid extra on shop labor and at the end of the day I'm still not done.

Anyone out there that went Eibach over Icon Stage 2? If so, what made you go the Eibach route?

People say, "Buy Once, Cry Once" and invest in the Icon Stage 2 suspension. But for my daily driving and light/moderate use Off-Road, are Icon's overkill for me?

Decisions....decisions...

Guys, I have about 300 miles on my pro leveling kit and just noticed this. Seems like the spring is not seated properly or I am over thinking it. Yours looks like this?

Nope, might need to re-seat that.

20K mile check in.

I am still on the Eibach Stage 1 Pro Truck Kit. Still comfortable, and still dollar for dollar all smiles. I did add air bags to the rear for when tow duty calls.

I changed my setup from TRD Pro wheels on KO2 265/70/17 with 1.25" Spider Trax Spacers to Titan7 AK1’s with Falken AT3W 285/70/17 spacer free and it still rides like a dream.

No rubbing issues at full lock compressed or uncompressed. (Wheel specs 17x8.5 -8, front liner pushed forward with bumper trimmed, front mud flaps removed, and rear flaps are about to go bye bye)

Why did you decide to go with Dobinson coils and Eibach shocks? Why not Dobinson shocks as well or a different brand?

I wanted the Eibach shocks because they had really good reviews on this forum and were monotubes but I also wanted more lift in the rear and Dobinsons had a lot of options to go with. Oh and I also wanted a lower spring rate. It also helped that I was able to buy a cheap non used set from a member on the FJ forum. The whole kit together cost me $745 shipped. I will post a review of the combo today or tomorrow.

what springs did you go with? I am debating doing the same thing. I have KDSS and wanted to do the Dobinsons spring b/c they make KDSS specific ones with different heights to help prevent the KDSS lean, hopefully without needing spacers. Also wanting more of a rake in the back and going with their 1.25-1.5 inch springs. That way if I tow or something it wont sag below the front height
