Eibach Pro-truck lift

I am running the 2.0 kits and the coil is hitting the sway bar on the driver side occasionally. Does anyone else have this problem? I know they had a sway bar relocation kit for Tacomas but haven’t seen anything on this for the 4Runner.

Any new info on this? I haven't seen many posts regarding the 2.0. I am looking at the 2.0 because of the adjustable front as I'd like to add a winch later and want to more easily level it out as I am guessing it will pull the front down.

Alright, after spending all my dang time on this, here's the deal.

Eibach still uses pre-2010 Toyota bushings on their 2010+ products, even though Toyota changed the bushing size in 2010. That's why the play is there. It's the wrong bushing. Eibach claims that this doesn't matter and is OK. Obviously Toyota disagrees.

I'm pretty disappointed in Eibach, to say the least. Perhaps it doesn't matter practically, but I'm pretty sure that both their top mount lower bushing as well as this lower eyelet bushing are incorrect, and for whatever reason, they don't feel the need to change it. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end if everyone is happy with their suspension. I really, really hope that this does not cause issue with my 4Runner down the road. I am trying to decide how to proceed at this point.

With 150 pages of this thread, I cannot believe I am the first to notice this.

Eibach Fits Incorrect Lower Bushings in their 5G Pro-Truck Sport Shocks.. Thoughts?

Just to give you guys some heads up, I've run into this issue trying to upgrade to some Dobinsons coilovers. My brackets seem slightly bent making the Dobs bushing too wide to fit in now. I've tried bending them outward but getting little success, so now I'll have a shop help me with the tools they have and gonna cost me labor since I might as well have them install everything and perform the alignment. I measured the bushing and it seems to be about 1.625" or 41.3mm which looks like to be the stock measurement, so im pretty sure the bracket is bent. Funny thing is Eibach installed these for me, so if you plan on upgrading in the future, I would keep an eye out for this issue.

Jba uca

2021 ORP, Eibach Stage 1 kit, JBA's and 285 Open Country AT3s.
Only trimmed the front bumper, kept the mud flaps. Caster is 5.0 and 5.1
Rides great no rubs but it only sees easy trails.

Hi,

Did you need to add wheel spacers when installing the JBA UCA? and which JBA did you end up installing the STD high caster or the heavy duty high caster?

regards

No wheel spacers and the std high caster arms.

I have noticed some minor rubbing only when reversing at about 3/4 turning. strangely i did not notice this at first, but nothing to worry about and i dont want spacers so ill deal with the rub. i dont push it off-road at all, its my daily street ride.
(i edited my original post to mention the rub. thx)

My Eibach kit arrived today fully assembled after about a 2 week wait from Wheelers Off Road. Very excited to get it installed. I plan on doing the install myself but have a couple questions.

For those of you that installed yourself, did you reuse the cotter pins or did you get new ones? If you got new ones, where did you get them from? I have read that you are not supposed to reuse cotter pins.

Is anyone using stock UCAs with 285s? Trying to decide if you want to buy them. Some say get them some say it’s not necessary.

Thanks!

I've reused them without issue over the years when modding different vehicles of mine. Just don't mangle them when removing them.

Yes, no issues here for two years.

Thanks!
....

Thank you!

I installed my kit today on my 2017 SR5. It took me about 5 hours using a hydraulic lift with no help. This is my first time doing any work on a vehicle aside from changing a headlight bulb so I felt it went pretty well. My only concern in the passenger side coil over. The only way it would fit was with the "Eibach" logo facing in. If I rotate it 180-degrees, the top bolts will not line up with the holes and I rotate it 90-degrees the bottom wont fit. The drivers side went in perfectly with the logo facing out. Attached are pictures for reference.

I got the kit from Wheelers fully assembled on the first ring. Everything seems to be assembled correctly and the coil overs are seated like they should be. Is this a problem? Pics are of the passenger side.

Is it possible they are assembled/installed incorrectly?
I followed the Trail 4Runner install guide and put it in the same way as the drivers side. There was no forcing or extra work that had to be done to get it to sit properly so I believe it was installed correctly.

EDIT: Correct guide

I was speaking of Wheelers assembling them possibly incorrectly.
My 2.0’s came directly from Eibach, the Eibach logo on the coil and on the top hat are facing outward where they can be read.
I don’t recall being able to see the end of the coil on the top…… maybe look at some others!

Doing some more research I don’t think there is anything “wrong” and it won’t cause any problems since everything is seated correctly. Just drives me a little crazy looking at it. If I have it apart in the future I may change it but it should be fine for now.

However, after about 50 miles with the Eibach kit I’m sitting at also almost exactly 2” of lift in the front instead of the advertised 2.75” of lift. This is with stock weight and set to the lowest clip setting. This is a bit frustrating since I was planning on putting 285s on. Not sure they will fit without the extra clearance/will look to “stuffed” in the wheel wells. Measurements center hub to fender below:

Before:
Front Driver - 19.38”
Front Pass - 19.56”
Rear Driver - 21.69”
Rear Pass - 21.94”

After:
Front Driver - 21.38”
Front Pass - 21.63”
Rear Driver - 23.13”
Rear Pass - 23.75”

285/70-17's fit and look perfect with 2" of lift. if they rub, they were gonna rub anyways at full compression. changing ride height doesnt change clearances unless you never fully articulate the suspension.

Quick question.... I have the Eibach Stage 1 kit in a 2015 SR5 with stock everything else. If I went to a 275/70 or 285/70 would I have to change any components? I have the TRD pro wheels 17 X 7", they are ok to run those tires, correct?
I have Spidertrax 1.25" Wheel Spacers on as well.

Also, I've had the lift since 2019 and it's still awesome. Rides absolutely great still.

youll need to trim and cut the body mount to still have full compression travel. or remove the wheel spacers and you wont need to trim at all.

case in point: i have 1.25 wheel spacers and 2.5" lift with 285/70r17's:still get some rubbing even with trimming and BMC
bro in law is stock height, stock everything except has 285/70-17's: only trimmed the bumper.

geometry ruins everything :lmao:

Eibachs for 21' TRD Premium

(Really appreciate the comments in this thread!)

Overlander on light to medium trails maybe 15 x per year, nothing extreme. I haul 500 - 700 lbs cargo plus pull a trailer for work -- Considering Pro stock Stage 2 plus 400 lb weight leveling. Questions:

1. Any general recommendations / comments appreciated
2. Can any decent shop install these or should I find a specialist / Eibach installer
3. Advantages of moving to a 275 tire
