Electrical grease

I just changed my head and fog light bulbs with Silverstar Ultra's today, I noticed that there was no electrical grease on the plug contacts. When I swapped the bulbs on a RAV4 they all had electrical grease, should I consider applying some electrical grease and avoid any rust since I live in the Northeast? I am especially concerned about the fog lights since there is really nothing protecting them and snow/sleet can get in there very easy.

You can use a silicone dielectric grease. Your auto parts store should carry this.

This grease will provide an airtight seal for the contacts, help to conduct away heat, and lower the force for assembly and disassembly of the connector.

hey...

did those Light Sylvania Ultras make any difference? are they brighter than normal? I am planning on buying those too, but just not sure. Please help me out....

You will notice that the Ultra's (fog and high beam) and the XD5's (low beam) are a big difference compared to the OEM bulbs, they are brighter and you can actually see more of the road. The XD5 (5800K) has a white/bluish color while the Ultra's (4000K) still have a slight yellow color (at least this is what my eyes perceive).

Of course with much brighter lights it also means that you get a larger amount of bugs flying straight towards you on the roads at night, or could it maybe be that it's the same number of bugs but now you can actually see them flying towards you?

I actually bought my head lamps (Blue something something, can't remember the name) for my Civic 3 Years ago from Orielly, but now i can't find them anymore. They were really bright and bluish, looked different from others on road. But i was skeptical of Sylverstars for my truck.
