Emissions Question (OBDII)?

Hey Guys,

Will clearing a DTC code via a scan gauge II (or similiar), also make a readiness monitor to show as not complete??

Not quite sure, as I've never used the Scan Gauge II tool, but I would slightly imagine that it would show, "Not ready," to a Toyota Service tech, until they do the drive cycle.

If you "Clear" the code at all, either with a Scan Gauge, unplugging the ECU, or disconnecting the battery, the code will show up as an incomplete in the system, until the proper time has elapsed and the truck's system has run the appropriate checks on all the systems.

Contrary to what most people say, I have noticed, and been told, that it DOES NOT take 150 miles to trigger a CEL.

If you're going to trigger a CEL, it's going to be in less than 50miles. Honesly, right about 37 from what I've been told, and what I've experienced.

Not sure yet (the code that is, or if there is going to even be one present to future). I had the check engine light, plus TRAC, plus VSC and checked the AFR sensor and sure enough a wire was severed. Replaced it with a DENSO replacement and lights are gone (unhooked the battery). And now I am trying to get this vehicle emission passed.

So, my next hurdle is trying to get the vehicle past the readiness monitor(s).

Next question: Is the mode for OBDII for my car PWM, ISO, etc?
