Engine bellhousing bolt size

Hello all,

In the middle of a engine swap for a new old 3.4 into a 1997 T4R..... What are the engine bellhousing bolt size and thread pitch as I can't find that information and I have a engine stand I would like to mount the engine on so I can transfer everything over...... First time project here.... I have a couple of bolts that seems to go into the bellhousing just fine but they aren't long enough to go through the engine stand brackets so I need to find longer ones.. And before you say to go to home depot with the bolt and find the same thing but longer... Already did that to no avail.......

Any help would be appreciated....thanks!!!

Those fine threaded metric bolts are not something you will find in any of the regular hardware stores in my neck of the woods.

I would try a specialty shop that deals with fasteners and you still may have to order them special. At least the guy there will be able to have an intelligent conversation with you regarding them and offer suggestions.

At least you have the originals you can take detailed measurements from.

You could invest $7 in a metric pitch thread gauge and order from Mcmaster Carr.

If you have any doubts about the bolt size, any fastener display has diameter gauges or your own will run you another $5.

I agree you will not find those lengths in fine pitch at big box stores or really anywhere except a fastener store and probably special order there. So on-line order makes sense.

After running around, found them at ACE hardware so if anyone needs those bolts for future use, they're there in the automotive bolts section.

Just scored a 3.4 with 116k as a backup for my 2000 4runner and need to do the same thing as you. What was the bolt length you went with?
