The donk in my 92 SR5 4runner met its maker. Im interested to know if any of the v6 or v8 conversions will allow the original auto to still be used.

And which exact v6 or v8 conversion are you talking about?

Want better answers, ask better questions.

The short answer though, is yes. Alot of conversions will allow you to use the factory tranny.

Well he says he has a 92, so assuming its stock still, he either has the R150F, A340F, A340H, a W56, or a G58...

In less its a diesel.. then I dont know.

Edit: Looking at his other posts. He has a 3vze. So its either either the R150F or the A340H. Both of which can stand up to plenty more power. Comparable to the AX15 and the AW4 that came in heeps.

oh geez. readfail :redbrick: no facepalm smilie? i looked and didnt see it.

i agree with the above, the 3.4 would be the way to go.

but, its hard to beat a v8. :D. there just something about the sound...when you're busting through 3 feet of snow....

damnit, i want to go wheeling!

If your looking for a good swap and something that won't be a headache putting in, i recommend the 3.4. i have done my research on the V8 (4.7) and the 4.0 v6. The 3.4 is plenty power and is a much more common engine to find with an ECU. But if money isn't an issue and you know what your doing, by all means, do the V8.
