Engine Idle Hi

I have a 1998 Limited 2WD that was just involved in an accident. It was hit in the front grill area. The impact destroyed the front facade, AC condenser, and pushed the radiator/ fan shroud into the fan. The are no major frame damage.

I heard the fan not turning after the accident and turn off the engine.

I just got it back from the body shop, but the engine idles at 1200RPM, but smooth and responsive when I give it the gas - no studdering or stalling. Any one has any idea why its idling so high?

BTW It now has a 2002 bumper and hood. I'll post the details on this upgrade once I take some pixs.

Probably a vacuum line. You can also check for codes. The jolt of the impact could have damaged something else.

Take into consideration the temperature. When it gets colder down here (60 degrees) my '98 4wd idles at about 1200 (in park), then drops under 1000 when i put it in drive. There may not be anything wrong.

actually, mine does this every now and again, sounds like your TB needs cleaned, could of got a bunch of junk in it and the BF valve isn't closing all the way.
