hi there. iv been a lurker for some time now and the information you kind folks have posted has helped me with many little projects and problems i have had with my t4r.
however this recent issue i am having is somewhat baffling.
today as i was driving i noticed a bit of a hiccup in my engine when going up a hill and passed it off as hitting a small bump. about 10 minutes later i noticed it again and this time knew something was wrong. after pulling over and checking for any fluid leaks or loose/frayed/bad wires i decided i was good enough to at least make it to a friends shop 2 miles away and this is where things realy got strange.
i was able to make it up to 80 kmph with no problems but then noticed that when i tried to accelerate it would not make power and would lurch much like hitting a small bump in the road, rpms would not go over 2grand.
my buddy suggested taking it out of overdrive and this seemed to help. i had no lurching or power issues until i had to slow for a truck to go by. i went to accelerate to normal speed and was faced with the same lack of power and this time the sensation like that of hitting rumble strips. if i accelerate slow this dosent happen.
i am at a loss as to where to start i have someone bringing a code reader over but with no check engine light im not optimistic that will turn anything up.
i am driving a 96 3.4L with a little over 300 000 km (186 411 miles). no check engine light fluids are all fine and full.
any help on where to start?
