I have a 1992 Toyota 4Runner, 3.0 automatic trans and the truck runs great only in 1st gear, neutral or park. As soon as the truck shifts into second gear, the engine shuts off. I can keep the shifter in 1st gear and drive it with no issues. I am at a loss of ideas. I have changed most of the electrical ignition parts and the 3 solenoids in the trans. I disconnected the harnesses from the trans and the problem still persists. Even the Toyota dealership was at a loss. There are no codes either. Has anyone had a problem like this? Any suggestions? If not, there will be a excellent condition 1992 4Runner for sale. Thanks in advance.
