So ive noticed my engine beginning to tick. could i have ran it dry of oil on steep ascents/ descents?

Need more info about what model you're driving....V6 V8 etc.
When was the last time you ran a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through a tank of gas? I use a can of Sea Foam with every oil change.
The only time my V8 has ever ticked was shortly after I bought it before I had a chance to look into the maintenance. I found it was the cheap the gas and it only did it when I put the pedal to the floor. I haven't heard that sound since being on top of my engine cleanliness and maintenance.
