Entune Update Email

did the update this morning, 1 minute after engine start the screen said mandatory update required, hit download.

took about 1 minute or less over cellphone (4G LTE) and the update install took about 2 mins top.

hit Pandora, music started playing, ignored everything else related to entune.

On my 2012 I had to plug the USB in to update. Looks a little different. I still have to have my iPhone plugged in to take full advantage of entune. I was hoping that would go away.

The update took maybe 5 minutes? I can confirm that I have slacker radio now. But won't use it because I need the cable still.

I just updated my 2014 TEP. (No, I never got an email)

I'd previously performed an update in July. Today's update DID NOT change any version numbers from the July update.

I connected to my 802.11AC WiFi on my Galaxy S6 and it took about 20 seconds to download and 30 to install.

Anybody know if Toyota if the update to the software on the entertainment/nav system (not your phone) made it impossible for you to update the NAV data by yourself? You know, those DVDs or whatever that you can buy from a Toyota dealer or on FleaBay?

Yay, yay, yay, I know, Google maps is pretty bad ass, but crap keeps popping up on my phone, the phone drains unless you have the USB plugged in, I need to remember to turn on the GPS and press that AGREE thingy in Lollipop, you can't enter a destination with the vehicle moving EVEN if the vehicle knows a passenger is sitting in the passenger seat, goddammit the light is on for pete's sake. If the price is reasonable, I would like to update the maps on my vehicle.

Not going to happen. Toyota is never going to allow the driver to watch videos. And why on earth would you want to watch anything on the terrible screen anyway?:twitch:

just updated and everything went smoothly. it did not update over the air so i just downloaded the file and plugged in. thanks!

edit: the interface feels snappier also, could be only me tho.

NAV Update version?

I'm picking up my new 2015 4Runner this week. How can I tell which year of NAV maps it has on the Entune/NAV system? Does it pop up when accessing the NAV window? I downloaded the manual yesterday and started reading it but found nothing on the Entune Audio or NAV. Is there another manual for the Entune & NAV system. I can look up a page reference or manual section if you have one to suggest.

Mine did not show on my Entune APP on the phone either, but when I got in the 4R it came right up. Pushed the update "YES" button and done in 3 minutes or so.

i assume from your signature that your system is the same as mine. if so, i don't think it will pop up and you have to manually download and install per the instructions. https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/toyotaHeadUnits

First thing it said to me this morning when I went to work. Didn't take long. More options on the App screen now and it does look a bit better.

Havent tried to BT call function since update but I am hoping thats better. Prior to it the sound was less than ideal even at a standstill with windows up.

Yes, you'll need to manually install it by way of the USB in the 12-13 4R's.
14 and newer should be OTA.

Me too. Went without a hitch. I think my rig is a half a second faster to 60mph!

Updated mine as well, and it seems to have cured my Bluetooth connectivity issues. Songs no long play at an increased bpm and no more cutouts at 5 second intervals. Also, it seems to have cured my random unit shutoff... at least for now.

The App store for me doesn't show a new Entune App but when I connected it to the car it asked if I wanted to do the update on the headunit. After it finished, sure enough Bing was gone from the apps in the headunit.

The odd thing is that Bing is still there on my iPhone 5s when I open the Entune App and am not connected to the car.

I haven't tried a location search in the car yet but I am curious to see what happens if my iPhone app is still showing Bing? Opening

Bing on the iPhone through the Entune App appears to still show the Bing features.

I'll give it a try tomorrow to see what it does.
