erase ALL info on non-entune unit

Okay, I've searched the forum and googled, but can't seem to find an answer to this. Last owner had, I dunno, a thousand phones (yes, that's sarcasm) programmed into the non-entune radio, and while I've deleted the phones from the system (and the owner's voice recording of each phone), but his data is still in there!
I can still get his phone numbers, spoken in his voice, and don't have the time to delete each one of them one-by-one!

Is there a way to just erase EVERYTHING in the stereo with one command? I don't have a problem reprogramming mine in and resetting the stations.

Was hoping I wouldn't have to, but okay, I'll do it tomorrow. You'd think there would just be a nice "hold buttons A B and C together" type of reset...

d/c would be the quick and dirty method. i know you can delete all those phones 1 by 1 but i don't think there is a master reset in that head unit.

heck i cant even find a master reset in the new unit.

There should be a reset. What if you sell your vehicle and don't want all your address, phone numbers, etc given to the new owner.

Yes you can disconnect the battery, but your regular Joe will probably never try that.

There needs to be a "Erase All Content and Settings" button similar to an iPhone which is what you do before you sell your phone.

I have not owned a vehicle with navigation yet. Maybe that's a good thing.

According to the manual you need to initialize the bluetooth system in order to reset all personal information. Page 431 (2010 may be different):

Initialization
1. “Setup (Setup)” → 2. “System Setup” → 3. “Reset Settings”

■Initialization
●The following data in the system can be initialized:
• Phone book
• Outgoing and incoming call history
• Speed dials
• Registered cellular phone data
• Security code
●Once the initialization has been completed, the data cannot be restored
to its original state.

I don't think disconnecting the battery will do the trick because I disconnected mine while I changed my intake and all my radio presets and phone info was still saved in the radio when I reconnected the battery.

Yep, battery disconnect for 2 hours did not erase any of the bluetooth stuff. I still have the last owner's phone books!

I erased the phones, but was looking in the wrong place to erase the bt settings, thanks donkey for the correct phrase to look for in the book! INITIALIZATION!!!

Found the reset settings menu and erased everything, reprogrammed the phone/bt audio and all is well! You'd think that by erasing the phones, it would erase the rest of the data too!!!

That's weird, it erased all of my radio presets after disconnecting the battery, but it did connect up to my phone and my bt audio started playing.

Oh well, perhaps this should become a sticky somewhere!

go figure, the ecu and everything else loses it mind when you d/c the battery, but the dam headunit remember everything.

Yeah it was all still saved on the wifes 2014.5 Camry as well when I disconnected the battery. The only thing I had to reset was the clock.
