Hey Everyone,

So last year I joined T4R while on the hunt for my first 4Runner. I finally found a good one with low (76,000) miles and snatched it up the day it was posted to craigslist.

2000 Toyota 4 Runner SR5
Desert Dune Metallic
4x4 with OEM rear locker
OEM Tow Hitch
OEM Roof Rack

The guy i bought it from restores classic cars, so not only did he take good care of the Runner, he also put his own special touch on it (notice the color matched rear wind deflector)

The runner will probably stay pretty modest or mod-less as it's main goal is to be my reliable daily-driver. I'm sure some of you will hate on me but my true passion lies in the Jeep Wrangler. As some of you know, the Runner does make a good rescue vehicle so I figured I better have one of my own handy.

Thanks guys! I thought it was a good find too! I looked at a ton of them, lost one on craigs with 89,000 which I was totally bummed about because it looked super clean too, but then a few days later this one showed up.:trophy:

No exhaust, just the tip... an upgraded tip.

Having helped a friend perform the deck plate mod a few years ago on their T4R, it was naturally the first mod I performed on mine.

I had to tested it out, so I took it on it's first 4wheel trip (at least it's first with me), we took Cottonwood Pass from Buena Vista into Tincup

Then up Tincup Pass although the lake was the fullest I've ever seen... there was 3ft of water covering the main road and the high road was covered in water too. My girlfriend didn't want to go any further, so we turned around and went down back to the pavement and over to Crested Butte. From there we took Kebler Pass, then drove up and around into Aspen. In Aspen we drove Aspen Mountain and Annie Basin (twice), then headed up Independence Pass and wheeled Lincoln Creek (one of my favorite's because of the cliff jumping and rock formations). Then we headed back to base camp in Buena Vista before making our way down to Medano Pass and entering the Great Sand Dunes from the back (an excellent trail if you ask me!), after playing around for a bit and putting a huge hole in the sidewall of one of my stock michelin tires we put on the spare and made our way east to I25 and back up to Denver.

Later in September 2011 we drove almost the same trip all over again Buena Vista, to Cottonwood Pass, to Kebler Pass, to Aspen, over Independence Pass, up into Leadville, over Webster Pass and back to Denver while searching for fall colors.

Soon I began to realize the stock sound system was lacking. So I made a few calls to some friends and then began dynomatting the T4R and installing a new Kenwood Deck, JL speakers, JL 500/5 amp, and JL sub (not installed yet).

First a deep cleaning

then I laid some dynomat

after I reinstalled the carpet I decided to mount my crossovers and amplifier under the front seats.

I'm still waiting to install the sub in the back. I'm trying to decide how I want to build the box since I don't want to take up any cargo room.:beer:
