hose on the bottom of charcol canister is off and i can not figure where the other end goes. leaking gas help

it goes to the fuel tank there should be a hard line that by the brake spiral in the passenger side just under the canister the lines on the inside under a metal shroud are the fuel lines there is 3 of them one is the fuel sending line that goes to your fuel rail another one is the fuel return that send the spent fuel back to the tank. the last one is the EVAP from charcoal canister to tank.

look at the FSM it shows 4 different types of canisters all 3 of my trucks have different canisters i have one that does like yours and drips to the frame then the other 2 are return lines. closed EVAP and open EVAP systems i think they are called

Well after close inspection I believe this line is suppose to provide fresh air, the purge line and the back to tank line are fine? except the canister is filling with gas instead of returning to tank and gas pours out the bottom line. afraid I messed up as I was monkeying around to get to spark plugs on that side. Truck idles great with or without canister installed, but has light blue smoke from tail pipe. Also chugging sound associated with cyclinder speed like a vacum leak, thought loose spark plug but it was not. Am starting over with fuel lines and check valves and vacum lines.

Blue smoke? Sounds like you are burning some oil maybe...might be time for some new rings?

Big pressure at tank
can a bad gas cap cause too much pressure not allowing fuel from canister to return to tank? when I took gas cap off big pressure, big. With cap off no gas coming out of bottom of canister, cap on big pressure gas flow .

Are you sure it was pressure and not vacuum?
Vacuum would be normal, pressure would not.
The cap is supposed to seal the tank. A pinched or clogged return or breather hose from the tank, or if those hoses were switched, could cause your problem.
But an easy way to test your cap theory would be to leave the cap a little loose and see if you still have the problem.

smoke is almost pale
pressure for sure, when you release gas cap gas stops flowing out of breather tube on bottom of canister. really got me guessing as there is no CEL light staying on. will check hose diagrams but they really are vague. seems like I have a flow hose on a return line?

Canister problem
so it turns out that the BVSV clogged purge check valve. Disconnected and removed, broke BVSV tips (of course). No more leak now need to replace canister and BVSV. BVSV looks to be a real hassle to change even needs special tool.

I have a 1994 4runner v6 3.0 liter and on the evap canister the smaller hose broke in half and and I have no idea where the other half connects to. I just need to replace that hose. When my car is heating up in the morning it leaks has and the scent of gas goes thru my heater. Any help would be awsome. I have been tryin to figure out for days. If you know anything and have pics help detailing the issue much appreciated
