holy crap im suprised you can fit that engine in there. do the older models have a larger engine bay than the 3rd gens?

My friend has put a Chevy built 350 in his Tacoma , it held up find even with a huge lift and big tires , it did fly like hell though.

That's pretty cool. I bet it's pretty fast. But I'm wondering, if it's for an off-road rig, do you need that much power? The Toyota 4.7 V8 has got more than enough power, IMO.

Why not add the new 5.7L V8 from the Tundra? At least, this is a true truck engine, not a Corvette engine.

dumb question perhaps, but why would the tundra engine result in broken camshafts but not the corvette engine? is their a substantial difference in hp or torque?

Perhaps you don't understand what camshafts do, so you should read up on that. HP and TQ wasn't the issue with the Tundra's camshaft failures. It was the manufacturer's fault.
