Exhaust suggestions?

I have a 1999 4Runner SR5 4x4, 3RZ-FE.
I took my exhaust out from just behind the catalytic converter all the way back to better access my frame (it needs plates welded in). Big rust issue there.

Now, since the exhaust is out, the muffler looks sort of bad. All rusty and the there is a small hole and a crack in the side. No discernible leak. I am thinking I might replace it, since it will likely go soon anyway. Was thinking about a Thrush Welded, I do not want something too loud, but from looking on Youtube, lots of people have put them on 3.4s. I like the sound. Are there any other exhausts I should look into?

Another question, should I start a thread detailing my repairs and modifications? My 4Runner is getting sort of redone. More like fixed in many ways. Doing all work myself with my uncle's help, he's a pro welder.

Go with the thrush. It's really not too loud, and a much better sound than stock.

I'll post a video of the sound when I get one and install it, since there's nobody on Youtube I could find with a 3RZ and a Thrush. Might be a couple weeks, I have a lot of welded to do, new rocker panels, 2 rear diff seals, and 2 front diff seals to fix.

I am quite happy with the Borla.
Good muffler, good warranty, rather quiet at idle, little to no drone at highway speed and like most any free flowing muffler slightly better gas mileage.
Has a nice throaty sound when you give it gas.

I have the largest Borla that will fit it is 24", model number is 40665 Turbo XL

I heard flowmaster 50 was nice on our trucks. Not too loud. I think when I upgrade that's what i'll be getting because i'm not sure if I want it as deep as the 40 or 44. BAD reviews about the magnaflow 24" because they need two sides welded together but good reviews on the 18". These are all research about the 5vze though. Goodluck on your search.

Borla might be one I'll look into. Haven't seen them locally, so that would likely be an online purchase.

The Magnaflow I saw was $184, so I didn't really consider it. I won't especially if there's issues with them.

I found a video of a Tacoma 3RZ with a Thrush Welded, I like it. I've only seen Thrush Turbos and Borla's on 5VZs.

i have a spintech and love it but it is kinda loud! i had a borla but the muffler came apart inside and started rattling! and magnaflow are a crowd pleaser!!!!

That Flowmaster has a nice growl. Spintech sounds great too, but might be a little loud. I live with people who don't like noise, haha. I might look into a Flowmaster 40 as well. The FM 50 would be a little bit quieter than the 40 from what I've heard
