Extended rear bump stops

So I've looked around trying to find a nice soft rear bump stop that's got enough length to keep my LC shocks safe. I saw a few guys using bump stops off 95-05 Jimmys, Blazers, and Bravadas but the rubber density seems to be inconsistent.

My search has hit a dead end with pretty much these as being the only option out there. My stock bumpstops are hard as a rock or I would sandwich a piece of 2x2 in there and be done with it.

Pretty large disparity wouldn't you say?

Polyurethane is probably only marginally better so I was hoping someone had a cheap solution with rubber bump stops.

Anybody go a different route than spacing stock bump stops or using polyurethane?

The ~3" spacer that he's got installed between the frame mount and the bumpstop might explain that large disparity.

These are polyurethane so they dont compress like the rubber. But feel soft because of the design.

Its pretty much what Steve uses on his Sonoran Steel bump stops. They work great. Still need to lower the stops like in picture below to compensate for the lifted coils. Usually 3.5-3.75"s to match 7 wraps.

Haha right but I thought the spacer was added because they were too soft.

From what you're saying I gather your blazer bump stops would do the same if you added a spacer...gotcha

I looked at those as well as part number KU09009bk which is 4.5" long. My only concern is polyurethane is so much more unforgiving than rubber but perhaps those gaps make it resemble rubber.

Poly gives just fine with the gaps. The truck weighs a lot. Also I have those stops and they are a softer type of poly compared to any poly motor mount ive installed. They work great. No harsh slam down like with the stock mounts.

If I could do it again I'd make the extension a little longer at least 1/2 inch.
Originally I tested empty on flat ground with a fork lift. Last trip I found my self flexed out hanging a tire with full wheeling gear + hunting stuff and gas on the roof.
Not sure if the shock bottomed out or if it makes any difference whether its bottomed out full weight or only a little.
