Extended Warranty

Great info on this thread. Thanks, everyone. Dealer finance guy talked me into Platinum ext. warranty 75k / 72 months for $1250. After reading through this thread, I went back and canceled it 2 weeks later. I'll consider whether to purchase one as I get closer to 36k / 36 months ;-)

Does anyone know if the Toyota warranty will be voided if you have installed a mild lift with a bigger tires?

I currently have a 3rd party lifetime bumper to bumper but they conveniantly put a disclosure in there saying you can't installer larger than manufactured approved tire sizes.

Legally toyota can't void the factory warranty if you install modifications. They just won't warrant the tires or suspension if you swap them out but say your radio dies within the warranty they can't reject the warranty because of a lift because they are unrelated.

Not sure about 3rd party warranties.

Not sure on this one since it is a 3rd party and they could add many limitations. I really don't see how they could limit your tire size.

On the Toyota warranty, if it is done by dealership or Toyota certified mechanics I do think it is covered. This would be a good question to ask the Toyota contact when purchasing an EW.

I wanted to share my experience: I received the info from Gamester, and yesterday we purchased a 2019 Off-Road Premium. When we were with the finance person he told us the price of a 10 yr 100,000 mile warranty was xxxx. He asked if we were Costco members and gave us the lower Costco price. I politely declined. He asked what I would pay, and I looked at my notes and told him xxxx. He said no, that is below my cost. I just said ok, we will get it elsewhere. He left the room, came back shortly and he matched the price.

For anyone that is on the fence about this, it is legit. Get the pm from Gamester. Your dealer may match the price and if not, then call the contact person. You will save a lot of money.

Thank you Gamester!! :bravo:

Glad it all worked out for you. When I bought my new Tundra I had my info with me and the finance guy said the same thing... and would get close to matching but not quite. I told him I would go elsewhere to get my warranty.

Has anyone purchased an extended warranty for a Toyota Certified 4Runner? I just bought a 2014 Trail which includes the 1yr/12K warranty.

I tried a couple of dealerships but they did not offer them. I checked with Toyota Financial Services and they confirmed I'm eligible to buy a warranty during the first 12 months or 12,000 miles. They even gave me a few different plan codes (WPM - 5yr/60K, WPP - 7yr/85K) but I'm striking out finding a dealer who offers them.

Thanks!

I purchased one for my 2018 Toyota Certified 4Runner. However I don't think you qualify for a Toyota warranty since your 4Runner is over 3 yrs old. Check with Gamester, he's the expert.
