Extended Warranty

I purchased one for my 2018 Toyota Certified 4Runner. However I don't think you qualify for a Toyota warranty since your 4Runner is over 3 yrs old. Check with Gamester, he's the expert.

Thanks Vernn. Based on Toyota’s site, certified vehicles are eligible for warranty’s too as long as they are under the 1yr/12K which mine is.

Here’s what Toyota’s website says:
Eligibility for a Toyota VSA is as follows:

"New Vehicle" Vehicle Service Agreements are available for purchase during the first 3 years or 36,000 miles from time of purchase or lease, whichever comes first
“Certified Used Vehicle” Vehicle Service Agreements are available for purchase during the first 12 months or 12,000 miles from time of purchase or lease, whichever comes first

I’m not having any luck finding a dealer who will sell the extended warranty though. I called TFS to confirm I’m eligible and they did.

I learned yesterday there are two extended warranties: Certified Platinum(3yr/36month) and Certified Platinum Plus (Certified Toyota's under 12month/12K plan). I need the plus plan because my 4Runner is over 3 years old.

If anyone has bought an extended warranty for a Certified 4Runner, let me know! I am going to call Toyota Financial Services again and see if they can help.

I purchased a 2019 TRD Off Road in Jan. with about every option and they offered me a bumper to bumper warranty up to 120k. Started out somewhere above $ 3,500 which I thought was crazy. They dropped to around $ 1,800.00 and I jumped on it. I thought that was too good pass up and I got what I thought was a great deal on the truck so that made it easier to justify.

They offered road hazard and paint protection for more but I decided not to do that. There seems to be lots of options and flexibility on the warranties the dealer can offer.

Mine was for 10 years with a zero deductible. Actual price came to $1600.00.

I filed it away and am out of town so it may take until next week but I'll try to get you the details. I think it was 10 years. Probably 0 deductible but need to confirm. I drive around 15-18k miles a year so I knew I would hit the mileage before it expired.

3 year 36 is standard and comes with the vehicle.

Do these extended warranties include service, or do you have to add that separate? I always do my own maintenance on my vehicles but after having a new 4runner with toyota care, I am not sure I want to go back. I believe I have the standard warranty, but would like to add on the extended and/or toyota care if the price is right. Thanks
