External rear shock mount

Every since I installed the superflex rear coils with extended bilsteins, I wasn't happy with the rear shock mount being a massive pain in the ass to get to to install the shock.

I've seen a couple threads here and there but nothing with a definitive company that build these kinds of things.

What shock mount would work best, if any, with my extended bilsteins?

If you run right length Coils you will be good. But it is better to mount them on outside. I've been trying to figure if you can mount 2.5 shocks outside.

I heard Ford F-250 shock mounts is what people use

I've been seeing this topic a lot lately and it seems that there are a whole lot of questions that have already been asked and answered in other threads if you search for it. Remember google is one hell of a tool. Check out this thread from Ultimate Yota. They talk about quite a few of the big issues that you'll encounter when running outboard shocks on our third gens.

I can agree with the clearance issues.

He also is running resi shocks that are a lot bigger than regular bilstein 5100 shocks. Plus, he's running 35's, I'm only running 33's.

His resi shocks are still 2.0 shocks like the billies. It is definitely do able but the clearance will be very very tight even with wheel spacers if you have a longer shock. It wouldn't be very difficult with a shorter shock but at that point why go with a shorter shock when you could just go inboard and not notice much difference in dampening but still gain more wheel travel than the travel of the shock. Try googling "3rd Gen 4Runner Outboard Shocks" you'll get a few good threads

Hahah my friends say the same shit! I always tell them to just google it.
The whole outboard thing is a real PITA making sure you have the clearance for your shocks between tire and frame. Almost no room up there, especially when flexed. The longer the shock, the harder it is to fit (almost exponentially). Since the axle will be at a higher angle when flexed, causing the tire to lean in toward the wheel well more. Getting a nice shock and mounting it at stock location is way easier to do and not much performance is actually lost this way.
