The tire shope quoted me for 5 tires, installed and balanced out the door. When I asked for the roadforce balance, they said it is an extra $120. Does this sound right?
Have you seen this? I am so intrigued... I did Road force balance and ehhh... whatever. If you find a tech that cares, uses the correct adaptor for our hubcentric rims and you take a standard balance, IMHO, it's just as good or VERY close.

I though our wheels are lug centric?
No, they're hub centric. We have flat lug nut mating surfaces rather than conical.
OK, I guess I don't understand the difference between the two. Does that mean I don't need the flange plate adapter to properly balance them? Yes. I have been trying to figure this out online, but am not getting anywhere. Some claim Toyotas are all lug centric, and lugs nuts should be tightened while still up on the jack. Which are more common, lug or hub centric?
So It sounds like the the 3rd gens are the one that need the adapter not the 4th. That wasn't clear to me in Thai's post "Tire Balancing...MUST READ!".
So far as I understand it the adapter should look like tapered cone. They will slip the wheel onto the cone until the centre hole sits tight on the cone.
