Factory crossbars

Hi guys,

Considering installing the factory crossbars on my 2011 4Runner. I think they look great but have read on many people taking them off.

What are your thoughts on quality and for those who have taken them off, anything I should be made aware of?

Do you value the items you will be strapping to them?

I carry around 14' stand up paddle boards and didn't fully trust them after some of the hardware came loose on road trips.

Needless to say I got rid of them and went with a Yakima setup. Thule's are sweet too.

I switched over to a Yakima system, as I had everything I needed (except the railgrabbers) from my other car. Never used the factory crossbars, but have heard some on here say they are too flexible, especially under heavier loads ( I have a roofbox that we stuff full of junk on our roadtrips).
