Fair Price for Used 2014 Limited with 6k Miles

Hello,

My local Nissan dealership is selling a used 2014 Limited with 6k miles for $40,995 (please see link below). Looks like it's a base Limited, with little to no additional options (maybe mounted running boards, but that's about it).

What do you think is a fair price to pay for this used Limited?

I did not pay much more than that for my 2014 Limited new with 3rd row seats in May. See how much they will come down. May as well buy new for that price.

The price difference between a lightly used one and a brand new on is so minor that it's pointless to buy used.

Unless you post the msrp off the Monroney Sticker, there is no way to answer your question.

I paid $95 less than that for a brand new 2014 LE just a few weeks ago. Base model Limited, no 3rd row seat, sliding cargo tray or retracting running boards.

Not to pile on, but I paid less than that for an almost identical model (mine had a few minor extras: crossbars, running boards, cargo cover, wheel locks, door edge guards), new, at the end of May.

Seems like a pretty reasonable asking price as a starting point. Obviously it is negotiable and you would likely get it sub 40k. They probably won't go 10% lower but you won't find out unless you make an offer. Confirm no issues/accidents, take it for a rip, and if you have the money make a low, but serious, offer and see what happens.

The other thing: for warranty purposes, what is the in-service date of the vehicle?

The only used thing I would buy over $40k would be a house.

They have new 2014 limiteds going for $40k where I am at. They have some with options going for $41k, and 2015 limiteds going for $42.5k. They have a couple of 2015 limiteds going for $41.2.

I think you should offer much less given the prices on new ones that are out there.

Weird, no additional posts from an apparent eager buyer? There is no such thing as a "base" Limited, aside from the 3rd row option. I wonder if threads like these are just the actual seller/dealer putting out feelers? Lol sorry for any false assumptions.

What exactly is the difference between a new 2014 4runner and new 2014 4runner with only 6k miles on it, other than the odometer reading? Lol

That feeling you get when leaving the lot with say...less than 1k is just that...a feeling. Nothing tangible. Or is it?

Oh yeah...maybe someone farted in it.

I sure don't see it as warranty (5k something mile decrease) issue because these things are solid.

3rd row seat, retracting running boards, Blizzard Pearl paint, all three are options. Is the cargo slider available on the LE? That would be another option. I don't disagree with your point but there is definitely a 'base' LE model.

As others said, seems high to me. A couple of months ago a dealer here had a 2014 with 2K miles for $38K. It went quickly. I would have seriously considered it, but people here aren't discounting new ones much.

You could probably get a 2015 for a just a little more or a new 2014 (if you can find one) for that price, perhaps less. I'd expect they'll get ~$38K for it, maybe a little more depending on the market there.

I offered $39k, which I thought was pretty reasonable, however, they would only come down $500, so I walked away... I'll probably try to hit them up again in a couple of weeks, if it's still around...

Well I guess it is a matter of opinion. IMO when comparing base to premium models I think of better engines, leather interiors or, upgraded sound system, different suspension, nicer wheels. That is why there are different 4R models. The SR5 is a base model. The Limited is a premium model. I would never advertise a Limited with running boards or 3rd row seats as a "loaded" up Limited, but I would advertise a Limited as a loaded up 4Runner.

Anyway, not really sure where I am going with this. Just made the OPs thread seem odd. I find a lot of 3rd party dealers also advertise Limiteds as SR5s because the pre 2014 LE's don't have badging in Canada.

Walk away. I paid 39200 for my 14 limited(Navy with Redwood leather) in May. That price did not include tax/registration. Otherwise it included all dealer costs.
