Getting back to your 898's: I had mine installed and did exactly as expected; lifted the rear end MUCH higher than my front end.

Heres my question, (see image) you had ToyTec/Bilstein 3" struts installed, were these them? I have 5100's all the way around, with my fronts set at 1.75", with TRD Eibach tuned springs. How do you manage to have a level ride? Are you set up at the factory setting for the 5100's and the 3" spacer?

On to a brighter note, traveling from Texas to Georgia this weekend and stopping in Baton Rouge to see SSS and talk about a front and rear bumper.

Hmm we have the
Bilstein 5100 front shocks
Toytec 521600 lift front coils which do look like your picture but we made no adjustments to them from when we got them i believe they are at max length right now and they do have the spacer..

Then we got the OME 400lb rear springs at the same time as our rear bumper but until then we had the toytec 2.0 superflex coil.

We installed our OME springs and then the SSS rear bumper the day after... Our front end came down a little with the SSS front bumper and smittybilt 10k winch installed and then our rear came down a decent amount when we installed the bumper along with full size spare BFG KO2 tire and rim. As well as Roof Top Tent and many of our pics are taken at or near expedition weight (loaded with gear)

When we have empty jerry cans in the rear and no gear inside there is a slight slant making the rear appear higher then the front a little... but we dont mind it to much...

I would say any of the pics that you see us leveled with our roof top tent or steel rear is when we had the toytec rear springs... and any pic with the rear bumper installed is with our OME springs in the rear installed. But yes the OME rears definitely bring the rear way higher then the front with out a ton of weight in the vehicle and no steel bumper on the rear

My wife has those same wheels on her SR5 and I was thinking about painting them rather than going aftermarket...your rig made up my mind. They look awesome, much better than I thought they would!

Question about your current lift, are you still running the stock UCA's? I'm contemplating a similar lift and trying to put a plan together. Was going to do the Toytec/Bilstein kit, holding off on UCA's means the ability to pick up some 285 KO2's...

Also - in your build thread you mention ARB air lockers in the rear - where are you sourcing that equipment from? Have you gotten into situations where your atrac couldn't get you out where a locked rear end would have?

Hey everyone sorry we went a little quiet, with the project Tacoma, several group buys and lots of trips and events its been tough to update our build feed lol. So I will try to answer some of you now!

Great looking rig. Your upgrades have been well thought out and it shows. Keep the pics and posts coming - it gives inspiration to us all!!!

Thanks! We do a ton of research and have made many mistakes but its always great to see a vision come together and we feel this rig is taking shape nicely.

Also - in your build thread you mention ARB air lockers in the rear - where are you sourcing that equipment from? Have you gotten into situations where your atrac couldn't get you out where a locked rear end would have?

We put the rear lockers on hold for now for a couple reasons.

1.) we bought a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road (check out @TorconTRD on Instagram to follow the build) so as you can imagine funds are tight lol.

2.) We have only definitively needed a locker once or twice thus far despite almost 60k miles on our 4runner now (easily half of which off road)... Our maxtrax, winch and stock 4x4 has pretty much gotten us in and out of all the stupid things we have gotten into lol (some VERY STUPID) - That being said A-Trac is by no means comparable to an ARB Air Locker and we have gotten into quite a few spots where A-Trac did nothing to help lol but like i said our maxtrax and winch did fine

3.) When we do install the rear locker it will likely be purchased and probably installed by Southeast Overland or AutoBruder4WD which would essentially be the first thing on this rig that we havent installed ourselves but I think I may be out of my league with a DIY locker install lol. We will also likely regear at that point as well.

Haha the SR5's put out! Just gotta give them the tools necessary for the job depending what your doing (lifts, tires, winch, maxtrax, etc)

Thank you! C4 Fab makes great products and truly cares about his customers. We werent too excited about any of the sliders out there since we wanted a bump stop style slider that also had steps while looking unique and nice. We reached out to C4 Fab and he pulled through with one of the nicest slider/steps on the market so naturally after seeing how robust and beefy their sliders are we asked them to develop some more new products starting with a fuel tank skid and a front skid (since we have thoroughly trashed ours lol) - Check out @TorconTRD our 2016 Tacoma on Instagram as well to see some more of C4 Fabs work, Ill be at his shop this weekend to finally lift it, install everything & pick it back up after months of R&D.

What ARB Air Compressor did you install and where?

Please post some progress pics when you do the lockers! I'm always up to strengthening and adding a locker to my rear diff.

Locker upgrade is on hold at the moment (please see above answer) but when we install it we will update yall!

Exactly why we hadnt upgraded our uppers yet, there was just too many mods to do to deal with that expense (although we did get TC's on our new Tacoma lol but we intend to wheel it even more then our 4Runner)

That being said we rotate our tires every oil change and paid for alignments for life from firestone and get it aligned after every trip and havent noticed any unbearable wobble or uneven tire wear. At the time I didnt think we would off road as much as we do and crawl as much as we do since we go to events all the time now so now that were close to 60,000 miles I think we will be upgrading our UCA's soon

1. The front bumper, what does it take to install this? I have been looking for a hybrid bumper like that to give me some protection and a winch without pulling the entire bumper. Also, do you know if this adds to much weight for the TRO Pro suspension?

2. The gun mounts, can you post a pic of these if possible, I have been try to figure out a way to deal with this also.

So nice bro! I Think we've got similar taste in our aftermarkets. Plan on a very similar build for myself. After I get these C4 sliders I'm saving for a proline front and SSS rear bumper. Let me know about them c4 skids. I would like to order one as well. Didn't know they made them.

For the gun mounts we simply used a couple strong magnets from Harbor Freight and mounted them into the lower portion of our seat in this pic you can see what i mean... but after this pic we also made a custom DIY kidex holster for it

As far as our Southern Style Off Road Bumper, we just cut the stock bumper with our dremel tool using the layout they provided and after that its pretty much bolt on. It doesnt weigh much at all =)

get the rear first! haha its soo much more important if your an overlander to have a great rear end because of all the utility and functionality it gives... rather then a rock crawler...

NEW MOD ALERT! We did a little diy trunk storage mod over the last 2 weekends... we removed our 3rd row seats and created some great cubby space in its place...

So first we actually found a ton of rust on the 4 primary bolts that mount the 3rd row down... this may come from all the river crossings we have done in 64k miles lol or more then likely water is getting in from the way we routed our CB or ham cable through the weather seal... but it still seemed like way to much rust for it to be that since i cant imagine a ton of water gets in from just that but anyway... we rerouted all of our roof light cables and comms cables so that we can rule them out of being the culprit in the future... so in the below collage you can see we found rust... sanded it down... repainted... and then repainted the entire floor of the vehicle just because... =p

Next pic shows the first board has been bolted down using some L brackets from home depot to the original front bolt holes that the 3rd row used... and it also shows how the floor came out after we sanded, primed and painted eveything...

next we cut the deck board to size and put it in for this pic

Then we cut it in half and slapped some hinges on... and began to upholster everything

We upholstered almost the whole thing except the rear so we can show how the board is bolted down and also got our DIY fridge slide reinstalled...

Here is another shot of the flip up cubby... we will likely add drawers or just sliding bins that we can slide out without flipping it up...

We then removed the zipper off of our canvas back covers and installed a new zipper running the opposite direction so that it can open with the flip up cubby deck...

then we remounted our diy fridge slide, arb fridge and dog divider and its pretty much done for now...

Hey, nice looking rig.

I'm thinking of getting that same compressor and mounting it behind those same plastics. Do you have some pictures of the actual compressor mounted back there?
That would really help me make a decision.
