FAST blinker problem :l

I just wired up my blinker lights to my parking lights so they are both on when i have my parking lights on, and when i signal they both go on at the same time.

Here is where it gets confusing: when i have my emergency flashers on (both sides) they flash at the normal speed. When i just normally signal left or right, it blinks fast.

Im assuming theres a problem with resistance, since thats what i always see the problem is when people put in LED bulbs but i am staying with stock bulbs. Anyone know what the issue is?

So you've got 3 wires hooked up to the marker bulb or what? Different bulb? Separate sockets? If a single bulb what are you using for ground?

This may or may not help you, but when I installed my LED blinkers and pressed the hazard lights, they blinked at normal speed. When I used them like normal blinkers, they blinked fast.

Check your fuses. When tail lights go out, dashbulbs will sometimes flash faster to let you know to check them . Check all the light fuses just in cases.

My guess is that the emergency flashers and turn signals use different devices to blink. The resistance is too much for the turn signal. Why are you wanting to do this?

I put a turn signal socket in by the marker because you can't see the front blinker from the side, being as they are in the front of the bumper. Prolly a reason similar to that. I've also got side repeaters, all running off the turn signal wiring without a hitch. Gotta love the Christmas tree.

We need a wiring diagram to pick apart, from the description given something tells me it has to do with how it was grounded.

[MENTION=5345]habanero[/MENTION] I have it all hooked up to a relay, not just wires all connected together. same bulbs and same sockets on either side. both sides have their own relay. i connected the ground of the relay to the frame. you mentioned you also did something similar, is it blinking fast under normal conditions as well?

And i want all 4 lights (parking and signal) to be on when i have my parking lights on and when i signal the 2 on each side to flash simultaneously.

So far i have what i want, its just that under normal blinking: its fast.

Mine works great. I didn't use relays, just wired all three blinkers on each side up to their corresponding wiring. I now have both the unmolested marker and a new socket next to it that is wired into the turn signals.
Are the bulbs actually doing what you want them to, other than blinking too fast?

When marker on, bulb stays on but will act as turn signal.
When marker off, bulb acts as turn signal.
Turn signal to act as marker when marker on?

Do a Google image search on 'marker into turn signal relay', though I haven't seen anything for turning the turn signal into a marker as well. I think you've got something there that needs work. Unfortunately, an electrical guru or even grunt I am not, I just did a lot of research before I decided on my set-up and some of it sort of stuck.

Bulbs are functioning exactly how i want them, just fast lol. So basically i can switch my parking lights on to function as daytime running lights and have my signal and parking lights as DRL (similar to the 4th and 5th gens).

If my marker you mean parking light, then:
marker on: marker light and signal lights on
marker off: nothing is on
signalling: marker light and signal lights blink on that side, just fast
hazard: marker light and signal lights blink normally.

It looks like "blinker lead from truck" lacks an electrical load. Do your signals (when moving the stalk left or right,not hazards) flash at all with the parking lights off?

Nope. The way my wiring is set up, its only on with the parking lights :l I think you're addressing the problem correctly, only i dont know how to fix it lol.

EDIT: do you think if i connect a wire from the blinker lead from the truck to the blinker bulb while it is already connected to the relay it would be okay? I think i'll try that tonight after class. Thanks man! Ill update this then!

Ive concluded its the same problems thats associated with led bulbs, not enough load on the signal wire coming from the truck. It just took me a while to wrap my head around thinking of the relay as a led bulb. It draws similar amounts of energy giving "led" feedback to the relay and results in fast blinking. I need two load resistors

I can't remember how the hell I wired it hwell:,but I think I did it similar to the link I posted. And BTW the "crossfeed" method Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply talks about doesn't work on our trucks,I tried it,which is why I tried a relay method LOL

Parking lights on - power flows from 87a to 30 to bulbs,bulbs light up.
Parking lights off - 87a loses connection to 30,instead 87 connects to 30. Since you have no power to 87,bulbs don't light up.
Parking lights on,turn signal stalk on - 87a and 87 alternate connections to 30,so bulbs blink.

If you kept the signals wired like factory and just tapped into the positive wire,your parking lights would flash and at the normal speed because the flasher relay has enough resistance. But only with the parking lights on though. I modified your original diagram to show the difference.

Thanks for the suggestions, its just that i also wanted the signal lights to be on in addition to my corner lights when i have the switch for parking lights on.

I do know that the way i wired it up, there is no power for the signals to work when the parking lights arent on.
