Faulty Oil Pan Gasket

Anyone heard of this on the 5th gens? I've got 5k miles on the odometer and major seepage was noticed while it was up on the rack today having some other work done. I figure it'll be covered under warranty but wanted to ask if there's anything I should be aware of regarding this specifically.

UPDATE: Had my mechanic check everything over. It appears that the oil leak was due to an unseated dip stick tube, not from the oil pan gasket. My best guess is it happened when I was grounding my second battery to the block. We did notice that there appears to be a second bracket on the dip stick tube about halfway down the tube that is just floating, that is there appears no obvious place for this bracket to attach to. We think that perhaps the dip stick tube used on the 5th gen 4runner's is also used on other models that have a lower attachment point, perhaps Tacoma's, gx460's, or Prado's. Can't confirm without more information, but needless to say there isn't an issue with the oil pan gasket. The series of events led us to believe that's what it was until we finally discovered the problem.

No lube, no good! Is the oil pan at the bottom of the pic? It's been blowing out with some force if its on those lines and part of that exhaust shield

Yea that's the pan, there's oil spray going all the way back towards the transfer case.

Upon inspection, and 4 quarts of oil, we determined that the dip stick popped out of the block. Think we've got it fixed up now.

Why did the dipstick pop out? Someone who checked it did not push it down all the way? Pretty much the only reason it would come out right?

I'm guessing he is saying the entire dipstick tube, not just the dipstick itself.

Yea it was the dip stick tube. We saw oil leaking underneath and naturally assumed it to be a seal, then when we checked the dip stick and saw no oil freaked out thinking there was no oil left. After adding a few quarts and letting the engine run all the extra oil started gushing out of the dip stick tube hole on the bottom of the motor, that's when we discovered the problem. It's likely that not much oil was lost initially so I'm assuming I'm fine, still going to take it in and have the oil changed and do another assessment.

I'm not sure how the tube popped out, but it may have happened when I was working on a grounding strap for the second battery.. its the only explanation I have for now. Once it's confirmed I'll edit the original post to reflect what happened so we don't have any disinformation.

on my T4R 2016 the oil dip stick is very hard to pull out. could be that this may have caused it to unseat. I will keep an eye on this and check for the tubes security . good you posted this.
